this whole series has been complete wank tbf with he whole Amy thing the controversy that clearly never left because no fucker wanted to be on so they roped in less women some of the best pros benched amy having to leave and poor jb having to carry on with someone new jamie leaving when wtf is sarah still doing there a pro in the final absolute wankfest weeks of specials because they are so boring dull music chooses tit costumes

sarah will never win (i’m amazed she hasn’t been in a DO yet as she isn’t normally a contestant that does well on this show - being a confident lady with an obvious theatre/trained background).

chris is the absolute only one who’s winning this year. no one really is going to come close. and i wouldn’t begrudge it! he’s done well and dianne (as much as some people talk her down unfairly) has done amazingly with him. i think it’s blunt to say people are voting for him because he’s blind but it’s more accurate to say they’re voting because they realise what an achievement it is.
I just assumed she was the 2nd favourite tbh, not really based on anything other than generally ringers tend to get off lighter if they’re older and keep it a bit quiet like she has. Reminds me of Debbie or even Joe McFadden who was far more experienced than he ever let on.

yeah that’s a better way of putting it and I don’t disagree! But I also think if he’s bottom in the semis there’s situations where even being top of the viewer vote could land him in the bottom 2? Not going to bother working out the maths 🤣 but it’s possible I believe

I have to agree, I think some people on here and on another thread were predicting Dianne would be a disaster with him and if only he'd been given another pro he would get far so....that worked out well

tbh i think people can be really unfair about dianne, or speak about her like she has candy floss for brains sometimes, purely because she wants to win (shock!) and can be a bit extra. she’s obviously worked amazingly well with him and teaching a partner when you can’t give them any visual reference must be so hard (not to mention the dance itself). i’m glad she’s hopefully proved some people wrong this year.

Strictly voters love a winner with a story they can get behind and vote for however contrived - the lothario professional softened by his celeb partner, the unknown camera guy who wows with his salsa, the long overdue win for a beloved pro, the couple that might just be in love, the presenter who never danced before becoming Gene Kelly. Plenty of those narratives were bullshit but it works. You have to have a story that voters invest in to win and Sarah doesn’t.

She was my favourite in the early weeks but she comes across as guarded and I don’t feel like I know her any better now that I did in Week 1. And her routines are jam packed with technique but she’s yet to have that wow dance.

She dances her dance very well but I don't know if she ever fully performs it.

I vote for whoever makes me feel something. The only contestants who have made me feel any real emotion this year are Jamie, Pete and Chris. They are also the partnerships who I feel have really connected too. Jamie was my winner, now he has gone I’ll vote for Pete. If he leaves I’ll probably vote for Chris. None of the other contestants have inspired me.

Nobody ever expected Sarah to win for the reasons you named, especially up against Chris. I certainly didn't/don't. She's done brilliantly, I don't find her boring (shoe-sniffing, fanny-wafting), she's funny. If anything she has a bit of the Angela Scanlons, negotiating everything with comedy but maybe without Angela's fragility. I've enjoyed all her dances and it's nice to see an older woman having a laugh and delivering really good routines, whether they're everyone's cup of tea or not. And people slag off Vito being too manic, but he's pretty shrewd: she's had various routines with VTs about different aspects of her (being a mum/learning to express herself/trying to be sexy/enjoying cunniliftus), plus he's given her a few of his 'trademark diva giving him the brush-off' moments in routines.
So all round good value for me, but no, not a winner, and not just because a woman over 35 has never won.

Funny Angela S was my favourite female last year (and second favourite overall after Nigel). I know she wasn’t popular in here but I found her really relatable somehow and love her instagram. It’s all France and Ireland which is me!
