If he wasn't blind, he would have been voted out by now.
Well you can't say that because Pete is also not a great dancer and he's still there. For me Pete and Chris are pretty much on the same level when it comes to dance ability. Both have improved since week one, both are stronger when it comes to ballroom and both still have weeks that aren't so good. They are also part of the of the strongest partnerships there imo and I think that's a big part of what's keeping them in. There's no denying there are people who are voting for Chris because of what he's been able to accomplish but that's not his fault and I don't think they're the kind of votes that he would want but it is what it is.

Yeah but the trouble is all over twitter I've seen it they even have a bloody twitter page for him and it's all patronising stuff but nothing for actual decent dancers

For all the patronising there is out there there are people like yourself who have quoted something very patronising as well.

I've said this before and I will say it again I don’t think Chris will because of his disability, I think he might win in spite of his disability. In spite of being blind he has thrown himself into an activity where sight up till now has seemed very essential. He has forged a good partnership and Dianne and him seem very well attuned to one another, spatially as well as other ways.

Chris like Pete is a novice and had some dances, footwork and lifts better than him, if Chris wins it will be on merit and not a pity vote.

Exactly. IMO Chris is the ideal strictly contestant for your average voter - he’s a complete novice, he’s charismatic, he has typical British cynicism but actually tries and respects the process. To me he’s come across as incredibly sincere the last few weeks. And Dianne and him have a lovely relationship, I see exactly why people vote for him.

well lets hope that's true

it isn;t though not on twitter at least

What’s the relevance of twitter here? Why does that mean you have to express vitriol towards him? And I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Twitter users probably make up 10% of voters. This forum probably makes up 0.1%. Average voters who aren’t chronically online will be making up the vast majority of Chris’ votes and you can’t possibly assume they’re voting for him purely because he’s blind.

He's someone who I think didn't think he would last 5 minutes but as the weeks go on he's enjoying it more and more, very similar to Pete actually.

love a celeb who gets better who enjoys themselves what I hate is the unfairness of it all decent and happy contestants kicked out when we have a bloody professional in the final and I'm sorry but he is still there because he's disabled and then we lose someone like jamie who was the perfect celeb getting better happy great partnership its just absolute bollocks

Yes precisely. I don’t think people can even grasp how embarrassed he probably felt at the start, he’s said multiple times he thought it would be a disaster. He’s definitely not someone that expected to enjoy any of it, but I will always respect someone that has a go at something they’re uncomfortable with and finds a reluctant joy in it. I also understand why people vote for Pete, for similar reasons. They’re not your expected lovers of Strictly but both have tried hard and respected the show, so good on them

Pete's Journey Towards Having an Emotion (even though I've warmed to him a bit) hardly raises him above what Chris is doing. They're both appealing to voters because of their stories, which is fine.
And Sarah and Tasha are supposedly inutterably boring, but JB is.. a whirling dervish of rizz and personality? The bantz when he... talks about turkeys, or brings his more charismatic wife in (and I quite like him!). To quote Tammy W: 'sometimes it's hard to be a woman'.

ANYWAY, The Lyra-themed AS was even more insane - she was actually included in the lighting design according to Tasha's stage dad.
I'm now hoping family members will all be included going forward: Pete's mum can jump out at the end of his VW and Vito's hot brother can swing in on a rope as a munchkin

If Chris wins it will absolutely be because of his disability.
Not saying there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s obviously true.

If Chris came out and danced like Anne Widdecombe every single week then I would get it but he doesn't. He works incredibly hard to learn the actual technique of each dance, his footwork is really good, on a parr with everyone else and his lifts have probably been the smoothest out of any of the male celebs this year.

I think it’s ridiculous to see comments like ‘he’s not the best dancer’ of course he isn't! If this show was about being the best dancer then they would have already handed the glitter ball to Tasha. This show is about hard work, improvement and the story to which they’ve managed to achieve their dancing by.

Those are things that can be applied to Chris as well. And Pete.

apparently all of pommel horse stephen’s gymnast friends are in his routine on dwts tonight (or tomorrow) so i can only hope with you that strictly start adopting the get your friends and family involved approach. if only for vito’s brother 🤣 or for molly’s hot brother from a few years back!

Ive been to a couple of weddings and the bride and groom names are Mr & Mrs Jones (not Eel!). They play "Me and Mrs Jones" as their first dance song.
The song is about adultery/an affair you numptie newlyweds!
I once went to a wedding where the first dance was James Blunts You’re Beautiful 😂😂😂 Firstly, they had James Blunt & secondly, the lyrics are “You’re Beautiful… I’ll never be with you” 😂😂😂😂

To be clear I’m not saying it’s a problem, everyone wins for a reason. And I absolutely am not one of the people who thinks the “best” dancer should win.
