Yes, oof that was so awkward! From what I've seen he even seems to be doing the showmance half arsed as well as the teaching. I liked him when he partnered Shangela a couple of years ago, but he's gone back to being total ick.

Gleb actually said he taught Brooks the wrong hold (the tango hold) for quickstep because the week before, he was called out because she did NOT have the right hold for their tango, so he wanted to show them!

So he sabotages his partner's chances by being an ass because his feelings were hurt (for rightfully being called out on something)!

What a narcissist! He also had a recent interview where he said his ex-wife had taken their two girls to live in Hong Kong (where I think they originally met). Asked if he and his ex Elena cooperate well with co-parenting, he paused and finally said, "It's difficult." Years ago, when they were still married, Elena was on the Indian DWTS and he was in Los Angeles, doing a sexy video with his mistress in their underwear. Elena got pissed and moved to Moscow with their little girl.

She became a judge on the Russian show - and got Gleb a job as a pro - and he won with a figure skater, which brought him to the attention of Strictly. Then DWTS was interested in him again, and Elena followed, and Gleb continued his cheating ways...

Sorry to spam up the thread, but just have to vent about Gleb. He's a jerk, who used to be a big Putin fan too, but I guess that's to be expected.

Does anyone else think Amy doesn't look well? I was diagnosed 6 months after her and there is no way I'd be fit enough to do what she's doing in 6 months time. I thought she looked great the first night but I have noticed her looking quite swelled to my eyes. I had that too, it's not fat it's like water retention because your body isn't working properly... I was so happy to have her back but now I'm worried she's doing damage to herself.
Bad enough that she's usually battling Crohns, but with the cancer treatments it must be exhasuting. I'm a Crohns patient currently immunosuppressed with a stinking cold, and that's floored me from working an office job so far this week. If she has the strength good on her, but things can change so quickly!

I'm not feeling Chris as the winner at all. I don't think he has it in him to give a winner's performance (both in terms of ability and stamina). Rose won but she had different challenges and was a really good dancer anyway. I think Chris is giving respectable routines for both a blind contestant and a middle-aged comedian, but I do think his ability is being overblown - ultimately he's not anywhere near the level of recent winners.

Then again, I can't see who. Not sold on Amy JB any more though either (thought they'd be a shoo-in). Tasha is obviously our big ringer so she's out. Could Sarah do it? Or one of the other upper middlers might sneak through. Jamie & Sam looked on paper to be journey candidates but both so far have been underwhelming.

I was expecting Jamie to win but he's really not that great. I think Sarah might win tbh. I can't see Chris lasting the full whack, Tasha won't win and I think Amy's not a certainty anymore, her and JB are just so boring. I'd like Pete or Punam but I don't think Pete is good enough/Punam not popular enough.

Sarah is consistently popular across social media and was already pretty popular coming into the show due to the Miranda connection. Plus she is the low-key ringer everyone said she was going to be. I never thought a woman over 40 would win Strictly, but I think she's the closest we might get, tbh.

I'd be happy with Jamie gaining momentum, and I think he might, but he would need a standout dance pretty soon really.

Mind you, Wynne has been consistently popular with the key demographic, too. I don't think he'll win, but I think quite a few others might go before him.

I would have been happy if Krishnan had stayed in and won it last year - not the best dancer by any means - but the most joyous.

Chris is doing better than some of the other contestants at the moment. People are in awe of what he is achieving so they aren’t comparing him to the others. It will be interesting to see how long that lasts.

As much as I agree Gleb is a total wanker, I just rewatched Brooks' Tango and she is doing the correct hold? I mean they're not in it much but when they are her hand's in the right place. Where did he say he taught her the wrong hold on purpose?

I think you do need to be fairly decent - while not the best, all the popularity winners ie Rose, Chris H, Stacey, Bill were much better dancers than Chris currently is.
I just don't think you can compare anyone else to him, though. Rose had massive challenges but she could see. I think Chris needs at least one more 'big' moment, but Hamza basically won in his year with his salsa - most of his other dances were good but nothing compared to that (and the CC). My main worry would be Chris' stamina, and the risk of him having to withdraw. With no update on Nick we are likely looking at another 3-person final, reducing the chances for others. One of the pack needs to emerge, but at this point Ellie hadn't emerged properly so there's time.

If Chris withdrew and Sarah somehow won, I can only imagine the fume on DS at Vito. So on one hand, it would be bad, on the other hand, hilarious, to the point I'd wish for him to get a ringer again next year. :D
