Tbh I think now the floodgates have opened for pros to complain, it really is the kiss of death for Strictly.
I suppose it depends what she complained about. Did she complain about the new chaperones? About the investigations? Or did she complain about what was allowed to go on without anything being done?

I think some pros know which side their bread is buttered or are smart enough to know that their careers are short so they need to make the most of Strictly so they'll keep their mouth shut.

I suspect his brother will come over for the launch show. Poor Roy: doomed to die unfulfilled.

Yikes: Nadiya. First they say it's about his conduct then a vague thing about people she's worked with in the past. Could it be that she wants to make sure she doesn't dance with him in future. I find it hard to believe either of them wants to make a fuss and jeopardize their career unless it's serious.

Floodgates have well and truly opened

They'll call her a fashion designer or something because of her PLT role
Yeah could also see this!

The selection of photos heading this article is fabulous, especially Amanda in the middle being all “WTF?!” 🤣

So Graziano's high-end PR person seems to have updated their statement? Saying 'The deluge of commentary, too often without context or nuance, has provoked a pile-on that has left a young man in a very vulnerable state. In this case, like in many others, media and social media have immense power to build and destroy careers."
and that
"Di Prima "does remember that he was pushing [McDermott] quite hard" in training on the day in question, Mr Borkowski said. "But he doesn't recognise some of the issues surrounding it," he added, referring to recent newspaper reports. "The descriptions of what is being commented online, and how he remembers it, are not aligned," he said.

And he said it was "absolute rubbish" that a single incident was typical of what went on during "weeks and weeks of training".
Zara's spokesperson has hit back:
"It’s a matter of public record that the BBC deemed the conduct to be so severe that they removed him from the show immediately.

"Zara has already confirmed in a statement released on her social media earlier this week that the reported conduct was not a singular incident..."

I know the point was made already but it bears repeating, I am sure some of the pros have put up with crap from partners too, and felt that they couldn't say anything. So the chaperones may be seen as good news for them too. Too late for some, I'm sure.

(Seem to remember Caroline Quentin licking JoJo's face, ugh. Not something anyone should have to put up with in a work environment. 🤢)

Speaking of JoJo, in last year's show, for example, Annabel was very newly bereaved. I know they seem to have got on fantastically but it's a lot to place on a pro, especially someone like him. He is so empathetic which I guess was why they were paired. I hope that there will be better supports all around from now on. They should always have been there of course. But it seems that they weren't.

DARVO in action right there. Though he’s shafted himself in terms of a full denial given that he keeps issuing partial admissions 🙄

Doesn’t matter what you’ve done, play the victim and say you’ve been left in a vulnerable place because people find out.

Just found this. Vanessa Feltz waxing lyrical about her time with James Jordan:

Interestingly, she says that everyone was getting on very well in her series (2013), no signs of conflicts between partners, but that there is some sort of pressure to act like the show is an amazing experience regardless of what actually happens.

And JoJo said no to both John and Annabel initially.

Funny how they bring up social media, yet Graziano left comments on his instagram post, allowing for thousands of hateful comments towards Zara to be posted. Suddenly when the facts are released and the hate turns around on him, it’s not fair?

The thing with Strictly is as long as they have celebs and pros etc that are willing to take part the show will go on, in fact despite all the negative press, they might even get more viewers this year. With the chaperones in place it should make things ‘safer’ for the celeb and the pro as mentioned earlier. I just hope that they won’t continue with the fake besties for life.

I suspect that this year they’re going to have to dial down the vomit-inducing ‘please look your partner in the eye and tell them how much this has all meant to you’ bullshit, not least because it creates an avenue for claims that contestants were cornered into making statements that later made it difficult to lodge a complaint.
