This maybe explains LadyLav’s slightly odd comment about ‘not having an Italian beating heart’ to the show or some waffle.

She was wanting a sophisticated tribute to his homeland and got Gino D’acampo doing cabaret

I do actually see where she is coming from. I too was hoping for a few more 'Italian' songs but
like or dislike him, he does put on a terrific show, well put together and really funny.

I’m glad you enjoyed it- he certainly has a reputation for putting on good shows and is accomplished at touring. I don’t really like or dislike him, he’s fine.

I just don’t think that watching female dancers dressed in chequered flag catsuits straddling tyres and pretending to be a Ferrari whilst he dances topless in pleather trousers is my cup of tea.

ETA: I’m aware there are other parts of the show.

That photo does not do the sequence justice really, it is one of the highlights of the show, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else who might be going.

Same for me, it wasn't a hugely memorable series overall, but that dance, the fire chemistry came from nowhere. And ruined me.

This has irrationally annoyed me. Someone on the fb group said they don't like Helen and everyone's getting their knickers in a twist about it- where was this energy when people were saying they didn't like Fleur for months on end? Why is Fleur fair game to criticise/dislike but not Helen?

I don't think people should be being unkind about anyone but the original commenter simply said they don't like Helen, and they didn't tag her or anything, so pretty innocuous imo

These Helen fans get on my wick. Must not express not even a vague sense of indifference regarding their golden girl let alone not particularly like her. Everyone else is fair game, though. Especially 'stompy' Fleur and 'fixed winner' Hamza.

It may not do the sequence justice, it may be a searing and emotional commentary on Italy’s current social and political issues, but I’m going off the promotional photo, which doesn’t convince me it will necessarily be something I will enjoy if I buy a ticket.

No, good luck to anyone who enjoys it - I am sure it's a good night out and the fans seem to love it. My issue is that I now actively dislike Gio: having gone on a journey of annoyance-indifference when he started, to liking him (Debbie-Faye-Michelle-Ranvir) to getting bored with his self-aggrandisement (Rose -present). From buying followers, not giving a tit about Richie, tooting his own horn about Rose at every opportunity, to not even bothering to post in support of his own pro peers' show WHILE HE WAS THERE but promoting his own instead. Why not use his million bots, sorry followers, to help promote his friends and his girlfriend??

He wasn't even selling out shows before 2021! The year before, Ian Waite and Vincent were outselling him at my local theatre. Seriously, he should be giving Rose commission for his ticket sales. What a crappy thing to say even as a joke, especially at the moment when it's tough times for any theatre production

2017 was peak Gio for me. Great partnership with Debbie, he looked like he was enjoying himself and everything they did was high camp in the best possible way. Would not miss him in the slightest if he left now
