Very interesting to see the pairings! This has crossed my mind recently and it's no reflection on Angela R, whatsoever, but I wonder are they lining up Kai as Anton Part 2. Obviously I know he partnered AJ first time around.

he’s only 28! He’s utterly wasted as a new Anton . I’m thrilled Luba has the chance to shine, Adam will be a good match.

He has had a long award winning career in musical theatre - you can see clips of him tap dancing and doing other styles from various shows.

Fortunately he should be shielded a bit by Layton's ringer status, like Faye and Ashley.

He won an Oliver for Lord Farquhar in Shrek where he danced on his knees (making Them very sore) and has been in Guys and Dolls. I think he falls firmly into the Joe McFadden category of celeb. Stealth Ringer.

Genuinely confused how Nadiya ended up on the bench? I'm happy for Luba and Lauren (especially Luba) but I'm genuinely baffled by this

luba got someone last time n was benched (2020). I’m absolutely over the moon about Luba she bloody deserves it, she’s an absolute trooper who in my opinion is the best female dancer by miles.

Angela R is someone who I imagine got her pick of the bunch. I hope they aren't going to pigeonhole Kai like that - it made sense with Anton because of his latin, and even then I don’t think they routinely gave him older ladies until later

The last time Nadiya was benched was covid and the pros basically couldn't be at home so it may have meant she wouldn't get to see her daughter so I completely understand why she would have been benched then. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted for Luba but there was actually space for both of them this year.

Put Bobby with ANY of the other girls and he'd have been there (I don't rate them all but none have quite so bad of a track record), I'm quite angry at that one actually.

I'm hoping that this year we don't see a 9 or 10 paddle until waaaaay, way into the competition. Last year the marking was ridiculous with celebs and pros acting crestfallen as if a 7 was a death sentence due to being given stupidly high marks so early

Normalise the marking 2023!!

It’s not even that she got a celeb anticipated to do well <again> it’s that she got the tallest male celeb after vocally struggling with that last year. Seems a bit odd, really.

Wasn’t keen on Michelle’s dress; it was giving Lipsy circa 2010.

None of them can do fashion, bar maybe nadiya and katya, they all wear suede knee high boots with mini skirts etc. All of them seem to still dress as if it’s 2011. I find ITT painful as they just look so outdated out of their dance costumes

Looking at the pics and Nadiya is just a stunningly beautiful woman, isn't she?

She’s gorgeous and so is Kai. I like that they actually make an effort for these events. I also like you don’t see them overly socialising with the rest of them in these ( seemingly) forced friendships
