I agree, a lot of them come across arrogant as you kind of need to believe your own hype to succeed. Generally speaking, a lot of them can be rather boring too.
Yeah … everything is geared around you, your training schedule, your fitness and your competition dates. Theres no wonder they struggle when they stop.

Oh yeah of course
I wondered if it was because he is an elite athlete or he’d always been unlikeable
Sometimes the one exacerbates the other 😀

Both.

This is normal. 🫣

I wish I could say more.

Well, he's earned the nickname Cunty alright.

Cunty and Scabbington - this is shaping up to be a great Tattle hatewatch.

I am thinking the final three reveals are going to include Nigel Harman (I really hope for him). I know I normally start to like people I don't expect to like after the show starts, but so far the lineup has been pretty meh to me. Quite excited to see how Bobby Brazier does though!

I also think...
Daniel Sturridge
I think the sun named him last week- few sports people this time then.

Will we ever get a Drag Queen do we think? It’s weird that Strictly hasn’t had one on yet when the BBC show Drag Race U.K and as an organisation they are so desperate to appear inclusive.

I don’t follow what drag queens have to do with inclusivity. Being a drag queen is not a protected characteristic, it’s a performance-based occupation.

Casting people of different sexualities, (dis)abilities, races, ethnicities and religions is inclusive. I don’t see why any given occupation would warrant specific inclusion.
---
I’m not fussed either way; if they’re an entertaining contestant then I’ll root for them (Courtney Act was fab on the Australian version), I’m just curious why a drag queen would be more inclusive than a the same-sex partnerships or gay contestants they’ve had on the show. 🤷‍♀️

Layton sort of fits the bill

Greetings! A mixed line up not sure who a few are but we will get accustomed no doubt - re the reveals - was this a load of codswallop in the papers a while back then?

I reckon they're lining up a wheelchair celebrity for Christmas. There were rumours of George Webster being in the main cast last year but they opted for Ellie S instead and gave him a Christmas spot.

Think the same for Les Dennis as well.

Layton sort of fits the bill

I thought Layton was a musical theatre actor who has played a drag-based role?

By that measure Grayson Donologue would be the first drag act on the show, as he did ‘Priscilla’ (and also the most deliciously camp tango off the back of that).

Let’s be honest, they can’t cast a ‘proper’ drag act as it would show up Craig’s annual drag turn in musicals week as rather lacking. 😁

I have nothing against disabled people but how can you judge someone in a wheelchair to someone who is actually doing the steps? its called strictly come dancing for a reason!

It is inclusive and wheelchair dancing is a thing, but it's a totally different discipline - I can't understand how they could judge it on Strictly. I'd love to see a show of celebrity wheelchair users learning to dance though, that would be beautiful and they could use proper specialist wheelchair using dancers to train and judge them. Just feels a bit like Strictly would be doing it for the sake of ticking a box and it would be doing a wheelchair user a disservice with nobody on the show having any knowledge or experience of using a wheelchair, let alone dancing in one.

A wheelchair celeb could have been good with the right contestant and right pro. If I'm being totally honest - for it to have remotely worked, it would have had to have been a male athlete. Reason being is that they have the stamina and have experienced a wheelchair sport professionally, so will know what to do. As for why I think it should have been a man - lifts. Whilst lifts aren't a compulsory part of a pairing by any means, they will need to do creative choreography to compensate for a lack of lower body movement, and the celeb having the ability to lift the pro would go a long way.

Below are the Week 1 dances for wheelchair celebs on other versions:

The female contestant in Norway was way overmarked IMO, and I do fear the same would happen on Strictly.

If Strictly does have a wheelchair contestant, it's gonna be Ade Adepitan. It just will be. Well known enough person and gonna have the fitness to give it a go.

But I agree the marking is nigh on impossible and just don't know how it can be representative and fair to the other celebs.

I didn't need to know his brother was just as hot! 🥵🥵

Oh yes, Jonathan really is, his girl cousins are pretty as well. It’s just one very hot family altogether

From what I recall Neil is trained to dance with a wheelchair user ( can’t think of the right term!), and that was possibly the plan a while ago.

If that's the case it should definitely be Neil - having an untrained pro just seems ridiculously unfair to a wheelchair using celebrity. Neil clearly has a lot of training and skills which haven't been shown yet - I know he's a creep but he's well respected within his team and has a lot of experience and accolades. Maybe this is his chance to show his worth?
