I straight up feel like I've just ate a load of cheese, gone to bed and dreamed tonights show that's how weird it was !

Like im going to wake up tomorrow
and Nigel won't have broken his rib, the vote lines would've been open and Bobby will have been beaten in the dance off and gone home

I will say a few things were over looked it wasn't perfect but let's be honest the angry faces are nothing to do with their dance 🙁
 
If the scores are being carried over will next week be out of 120? (This weeks plus two dances next week?)

If so Layton will have benefited from Ellie not bagging her usual tens and put a nice 4 point lead on her, I presume it’s just a question of who is bottom out of Annabel and Bobby

In all seriousness, I think Ellie should win. I like Bobby to be fair, and think Annabel is brilliant. Layton is obviously great.Will be an interesting one next week!

Loved the pro dance tonight. I know Karen has a patchy record with celebs, but she is such an exquisite dancer (especially watching her on stage)

Ellie - if I saw this as part of a Beauty and Beast stage adaptation, it would have been great. As a Strictly quickstep, it felt a bit lost and chaotic

Annabel - I did feel like she was making a bit of an effort to perform a bit tonight. But it was still deeply dull

Layton - wowsers! I think the paso bit did get a tiny bit overshadowed, but definitely deserving of the 40

Bobby - pretty much what I expected it to be. I actually think Dianne was far too OTT in the dance and didn't really do a very good job either. She was quite annoying tonight in general and could barely disguise her her glee that there was no dance off. If there had been one, she would have been fuming at those 8s

*dons tin hat* Funny that they decide to be a bit picky with Annabel and Bobby in a week when it doesn't actually matter that much. No doubt they'll go back to over-scoring them again next week when there's a dance off (I know the scores get carried over, but it feels a bit unfair that Layton can't really use that 40 to his advantage with the public this week)

Summary of this week:-

- Ellie’s was....boring. Not her fault, poor song and theme. She performed it well.

- Annabelle's was a bit dull as well, it wasn't a particularly exciting opening half tbh

- Layton was amazing, well deserved first 40, although I'm not sure if Craig genuinely thought it was a 10 or if he was afraid Motsi would knock him out if he didn't give it a 10 😂

- Bobby was...all right? THE LIFT was a bit precarious, Dianne clearly screaming internally bless her; not sure why they gave him the haircut of a 45 year old lesbian though

- Poor Nigel and Katya, she looked so upset - it sounds like the backing dancers dropped him?! Haven't we all been saying the dance troupe was a bad idea for years???

- Kai looking like a bouncer at a sticky floored night club gave me a bit of a chuckle

- Gio as a sleazy gangster last week and a tyrannical dance captain this week - are the pro choreographers tattlers 😂

- All the pro girls looking gorgeous in the background tonight, pleased to see Amy looking so well

- The Fisherman's Friends bit was, er, interesting; went on far too long though
 
The whole episode tonight feels off and it’s at that stage where it’s just a bit boring now, I really do think this is why they need a 4 person final because with only 4 left it’s lost its spark a bit and there’s still 2 weeks to go whereas usually you have the sparkle of the final and the multiple dances to counterbalance the lack of variety

I feel a bit sorry for Layton that he got his 40 in such a off feeling week
 
Thoughts no one asked for:

Gio was so annoying in the opening dance. You can imagine him being awful in the training room. Was away when they were choreographing it so they just thought they'd stick him as himself.

Ellie and Vito errrr why are they excusing all the lifts? Too much of all the "narrative" they were praising which was just moving around the other dancers and hardly any of the 2 of them dancing together. Of course they're going to tell a story with everyone acting around them. So surprised it scored so highly and got great comments. It was more an American Smooth not a Quickstep. And bit of a snoozefest.

Well done to the person who drowned out Hayley with that instrument. You're my favourite. That is all. Except again boo to princely Glinda.

Poor Nigel not even getting to do his interview in his full Dick Van Dyke costume. Don't worry Nige, Nadiya will wear it on tour. Oh so gutted for them. Bless them being put on the spot. Too soon maybe. I actually started blubbing at Katya crying.

Layton and Nikita. Yasss that's how to cheer us up babies. Camera work at the end ruined it though as completely missed what they were meant to be doing not knowing where to focus. But yasssss for 40.

Oh god that opening was awkward and he's an actor? No sexiness in any of it. They've been done a favour with no vote this week. The middle lift was very misleading it felt like the big moment and then looked like they'd chickened out. Oh that's a point next week will they get to choose which of 3 dances they do in a dance off? WTF 9s!!!

Musicals week is always so short as it is but was ridiculous this week. And too many backing dancers for a small space.

After tonight Layton for the win for me. I like Ellie and adore Vito and feel they probably have it in the bag and will be fair winners, I'll be happy for them, but for Layton to actually win will be such a big and deserved moment.
