Funnily enough, all my votes went that way too. I might have even dug out some of those additional BBC accounts I made back in my Danny and Oti days ;)

Yes, I'd hate Nigel to go out tonight because him and Katya are my favourites and I'm also that embarrassingly cliche fan who's fancied him ever since Dennis Rickman charmed Dot by chasing down the teenagers who stole her handbag, but I'd also hate for him to go out on such a miserable note. He's clearly gutted and beating himself up and it's never nice when someone's eliminated on a night where they already feel like a failure.

I see Zoe Ball's commented that he was "under marked for goodness sake" and that she loved it.

What a weird end to the evening. Lots of good dances but the atmosphere felt a bit flat for the whole thing, probably not helped by it being a shorter show

Bobby and Dianne - I mean, it was fine, but a bit messy and forgettable. And then there was Bobby just repeatedly parroting ' it's just like one big party out there!', like that the one line he'd been instructed to say

Angela R and Kai - not so much thrown under a bus, but more made to stand in the middle of the bus station during rush hour. But it was a bit tit so I don't think they even needed to put that much effort into said throwing. And the vibe between her and Kai is now very much two people who ran out of things to talk about weeks ago

Layton and Nikita - a bit too much posing and faffing about, and it felt a bit stop-start with the choreography. Should have given them a 40 last week!

Annabel and Johannes - she has improved, but I still just find her quite dull. And she still looks terrified when in hold

Ellie and Vito - it feels like there is literally nothing she can't do? Just so fearless! And yet she still doesn't really excite me as a dancer that much, maybe because I know she's going to be good every week (sorry, that sounds so nitpicky - she is great)

Angela S and Carlos - definitely her best dance by far, and I loved the staging

Nigel and Katya - oh I felt a bit heartbroken for him at the end. I think he's just pissed off at himself more than anything else, and when you're gutted in the moment, you can't really hide it (I see the Strictly facial expression police on twitter are out in force again). And, the QS did look really great apart from a small mistake! The way the judges critique him compared to say, Annabel is quite strange. Of course they should point out mistakes, but then they should do that for everyone. But even without the mistake, it wasn't quite wow enough I don't think

Side note - Anton could barely string a sentence together this evening, even less so than usual
 
Bobby- I was surprised and thought it was good, the song seemed like a sloooowwwed down version
Angela - it was fine but lovely to see her joy
Layton - he was superb, but Nikita was a none in the dance, he was flagging
Ellie - fab, but Vito outperformed her
Annabel- deserved a few 10s, beautiful (sometimes she reminds me of liz Hurley)
Angela S - that was her best, amazing
Nigel - oh dear, I was expecting mistakes.

Disliked outfits tonight
 
Nigel’s obviously a good dancer but he just doesn't seem to be able to make it "happen", as much as I've really enjoyed most of his dances.

I think it's a combination of nerves and being so focused on not making mistakes then he ends up too tense and then makes mistakes! And then the judges lay into him and make him even more paranoid.

I can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head but I remember feeling this way about some other celebs in the past. Like they're psyching themselves out.

What do they call it in sports? The yips?

It was such a let down, last week was much better but even that still wasn't a 40... I wonder will he manage it at all?

I will say the show did surprise me tonight, celebrities I had written off altogether really pulled it out of the bag for me and I really enjoyed their performances!! I spotted a few fluffy footsteps by Nigel, I love him but he did fumble but he did not deserve the scores he got at all!! Ridiculously low.

I still wish Krishnan had made it to this week instead of Angela R... He would have brought more joy!!

Motsi: WOW! What I saw tonight was you giving it everything, well done!
Craig: I would have liked to have a lot more [insert dance technique] but your armography has improved.
Shirley: Well I have to disagree with Craig I saw lots of [...]
Anton: WELL! You came out and did *yeeerrr* and gave it some *oomph* *cooorrr* and I thought *gotchaaaa* [fades into unintelligible guttural sounds]
I used to really like Anton was so pleased he'd become a judge but his comments are descending into the inane. Someone needs to have a word.
