Week 8 dances are out:



ETA: Layton's AT is to the exact song that Nigel said he wanted to dance to in his intro VT. I wouldn't be opposed to Layton and Nigel dancing AT together...for dance-related reasons obviously.

Angela R and Kai: Paso Doble to Hung Up by Madonna

Angela S and Carlos: Waltz to With You I’m Born Again by Billy Preston & Syreeta

Annabel and Johannes: Samba to Whenever, Wherever by Shakira

Bobby and Dianne: American Smooth to Ghost of You by 5 Seconds of Summer

Ellie and Vito: Rumba to True Colours by Cyndi Lauper

Krishnan and Lauren: Samba to Bamboléo by Gipsy Kings

Layton and Nikita: Argentine Tango to Tattoo by Loreen

Nigel and Katya: Couple’s Choice to Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

I saw someone in the comments on insta suggesting a Eurovision week on Strictly. I’d be here for it 😉 My Swedish family are unsurprisingly huge Loreen fans .. shame they can’t vote or I think you’d get 80% of Sweden chucking votes Layton’s way just purely because they love Loreen! Eurovision is life in Sweden 😂
 
I'm going for an Annabel vs Krishnan samba dance-off this week but I could see Angela R ending up there because I can't imagine a massively dramatic and powerful paso from her. And I'm expecting Layton to top the leaderboard with that AT. It has the potential to be phenomenal.

Also, I would like to reiterate my threat from last weekend that if Nigel's CC ends up anything like Krishnan's, I will sue. They've already taken away my jazz-inspired CC dream; I at least need there to be decent choreography.

Yeah I spotted that straight away 😞
Nigel REALLY wanted to dance to Loreen im sad that it won't be his Argentine Tango now feel a bit gutted he always get short shrift.
(Thank god it's a couple i like who got it instead of him though)
 
Also worry Nigel’s couples choice to a very boring song will be .. boring.

I’m very excited for L&N’s AT to Loreen but seems a bit of a shame not to give it to Nigel if he actually said it’s a song he’d love to dance too! C’mon Strictly powers that be!

I don’t think it will be anything like Krishnans luckily, but I was hoping for something a bit more upbeat. I think it will be contemporary with some little jazzy movements at times which could be really good.
 
I can't be the only one who can't see how the duck that song could fit an Argentine Tango, right?

And it seems my hopes for Nigel to have a Theatre/Jazz Couple's Choice have been dashed too, seems like a contempowaft song.

I don't think True Colours seems right for a Rumba either. *stamps foot* I want a sexy Vito rumba!

Or do I just not understand music?

Anyway, hoping for Krishnan's Samba to be a Judi Love style iconic moment.

Shame that Nigel doesn't get his wish. Katya will again choreograph it well but hoped for a more up-beat song for their CC. Perhaps he can do one of his remaining dances to Euphoria?


However can imagine Layton being propped and shot up in the air by Nikita on the you-ooo-ooooooo of the Tattoo song.
