Gio's face when Vito and Ellie came up the stairs and everyone was smiling and congratulating them. A couple of polite claps and a face like the Babadook.
Mind you, by then he'd probably got wind that there were various hit pieces coming out about him. (I see Amanda has posted about Matthew Perry dying (
) and saying how you don't know what is going on with people. Ranvir, Georgia, and Laura have all responded with a heart).

Ohhh I had no idea about Matthew Perry
Some belated thoughts from last night:
- A lot of the dances felt underwhelming and boring, especially after some of the triumphs last week.
- Zara seems to be trying but the lack of energy in her movements and the fact she seemed to just be clomping around at times means she'll hopefully be the next to leave - she seems like a lovely girl but not a good enough dancer.
- Krishnan without his glasses and with his mouth clamped shut and his wig looked like Paul Sinha
- After Layton and Nikita's dance my husband shouted through from the other room "was it any good?" and I replied with "I'm not sure - I really enjoyed it but that might just be because it was incredibly homoerotic"
- Seeing Bobby's tackle swinging in the breeze made me feel unwell
- Nigel's dance was great, despite him looking a little hesitant at times, and I was really impressed. The way the judges beat him down rather than trying to offer a balance of goods and "could improves" reminds me a little bit of an emotionally abusive relationship or when you're getting bullied by a manager - if your faults are consistently pointed out without balance or nurturing you become nervous and more prone to make mistakes, which the person then uses against you in an "I told you that you weren't any good" way
I felt so sad for him, he should have been praised for everything he achieved with notes about the mistakes as a reason for knocking a point off, not being heavily criticised under the guise of doing it for his own good.
- At one point in the clauditorium I spotted Gio pull Nikita in front of him and then try to sidle out of shot as though he didn't want to be seen on camera
- I'm really impressed with Ellie and thought her dance was great (and I felt a bit emotional at them getting 10s
) - her character in Corrie was so whingy and low energy that I've been really surprised by how bubbly and energetic she is!
And finally - I had to keep pausing the show to deal with my baby, and at one point accidentally paused on this
Thank you yet again for the entertainment of these threads! I've decided to avoid results spoilers this week so look forward to seeing all the reactions after tonight's show!
