Many years ago in the early 80’s my mum who was only 38 over a period of about 6 months found it increasingly hard to swallow and her weight plummeted to less than 6 stone. Wonderful GP just knew it was something sinister and she was referred to an Ear, Nose & Throat ‘specialist’. The old Scrote that she saw dismissed all of her symptoms, tried to tell my dad she was mentally ill, refusing to eat, anorexic, all sorts. He even once boomed loudly in the waiting room “where’s the dying woman who carried her own bag in?”! In utter despair my dad fought to get a second opinion and after months of dithering about she got referred to the most wonderful man who immediately diagnosed her with cancer of the oesophagus. Somehow, with his (and her) determination and willingness to try anything (massive operation, chemo) she survived. My dad, my sister and me will be forever grateful to that wonderful man and the surgeon who gave us an extra 32 years with her (sadly she died in 2014 from pancreatic cancer - unrelated). My point is that, had she been stuck with the original specialist we’d have lost her and we’d have all been so angry, frustrated and bitter about it. His attitude was disgusting. Believe me also, when faced with a situation like Annabel and her husband her you will try ANYTHING, conventional or not, to get better. I don’t blame them for consulting their friend one bit, they were badly let down by the traditional medical profession
Absolutely, the attitude of some consultants is horrible. We had that with my dad (along with some amazing doctors and nurses). But recommending treating cancer with low-carb diet is just wrong. I know in Annabel's case it didn't make any difference as her husband had such an awful prognosis and wasn't eligible for chemo or surgery. But others might read that and think it's the way to go, instead of chemo etc. Not to mention this woman (not a doctor or even a Phd) is posting insane anti-vax stuff and right-wing conspiracies. I understand that people are desperate for help, but Annabel was already friends with this woman before her husband's diagnosis, so presumably shares her nutty views.

Anyway, I am desperately hoping Kai's wig is not for the pro dance but that he plays Rolf (not Kurt, doh!), or even Maria. Stealing Layton's thunder by cross-dressing first!

From Katya’s IG story, it sounds like her and Nigel are opening the show. And I’m expecting Angela and Carlos to close it with their Charleston which looks excellent in the training clips.
Oh that would be a great start to the show!

I have been wallowing in older threads and absolutely cracked up laughing at this. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Is it the barbie pro dance tonight or tomorrow? I just need to mentally prepare myself for Gorka.
It's tomorrow sadly, there'll be some Gilkison rubbish tonight.

Nikita had her ankle strapped earlier - not good. She's also jiving in trainers, maybe because of her ankle :(

The doctors had given him such a grim prognosis, chemo wasn’t even an option. The only choice they were given was to have an op to remove the large intestine and have a stoma fitted. I know my mum and dad (by no means into alternate therapies) went to many places looking for help, including a ‘nutty’ place that said a raw food diet was the only way. My mum even saw a faith healer. It wasn’t that they eschewed the medical professions advice, they followed it. My mum had a massive operation, the survival rate from it was only 2% at the time. As I said, people will try anything, no matter how weird they are. I have friends with odd views, different to mine. It doesn’t mean I have the same views
