I don't think they would be jealous, maybe envious but not jealous I would imagine. It's an achievement that a female pro finally won in her first year.

To be honest I think the true win in itself is not that glitterball trophy but what you can make from your time on Strictly when your on the show. You can win as many seasons as you like but what happens when you leave is the real test. If you've won a lot of series and walk into nothing or have nothing planned afterwards then what does it matter you won some trophy?? It wont be paying your bills.

Its best to start making plans when you are on the show such as brand deals, appearing on tv, events, getting your social media following up as much as possible etc.

Some pro's who have won the show you never hear from again and some who haven't are making successes in their own right.

Traditionally, most of the pro’s from the early series went into teaching and were able to increase the cost of their lessons quite considerably off the back of being in Strictly (I think Karen Hardy still does, and also judges and does a bit of commentary for Eurosport when they show dance). Obviously it Depends on the pro, but I didn’t think all of them particularly want The Jordan Experience. The likes of AJ show that an ex-pro needs a bit of something about them to transfer across to a post Strictly career outside of dance.
 
Yeah, Luba speaks Italian and presumably could go over to Ballando if she wanted but must be a bit :oops: at the thought. She seems to enjoy Strictly, hanging with Karen et al, and gets to do the tour now. I guess she is hoping that she will get a partner this year on the show, having had two on the last Christmas specials.

Nikita appears to be still in Italy with his sister, far from the sex podcaster. Vito is still incommunicado in London, hopefully getting ready for a social media blitz..
Arduino says he is staying in Italy for the next few months to rest - he's not doing the live tour as we knew. So that rules out a catsitter for Rodger, who I think is in Poland, far from Gio's camel jackets..
 
I wonder if the professionals receive any social media training when they first start? Whilst social media isn’t a true reflection of a picture or who someone is, it is these days hugely impactful if you are in the public eye or not. I have worked for people in the public eye the first thing they receive is social media training. Actually not just people in the public eye, but, most organisations I have worked for recently I have had social media training not just in terms of business but also personal accounts. I am someone who always has to think about what I post, like and even who I follow. It’s about how I can be perceived professionally via my private life, even on closed accounts. Have a mixture of closed and open - as depending on profession if all closed you can look a tad secretive. If you have a neutral open account which includes some of your interests, people tend to trust you more as think they know you a bit; makes you more personable.

Back onto the strictly train - after seeing Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci hanging out I would love for them to do it - know that is wishful thinking. Thinking they are more likely to get someone like Josie Gibson. Really hope they get rid of couples choice this year.

The opportunities have risen since the earlier series what with more television shows and now social media/influencing so theres now more job opportunities and money to be earned.

Like I said before I don't think it really matters who wins but who makes the most from the show as a whole.
 
Lady Lav and the appreciation thread are still putting in all the work on that thread about Gio and Jowita on DS- they absolutely refuse to accept he has ever used tabloids or his personal life for exposure/career gain, and it’s just a big coincidence that the member of the public who snapped them outside his flat happened to be a pap who he follows 🤪.

I honestly think their retirements would be better spent in support of a less scandalous pro- fellow Italian and devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart Graziano or Gorka with his wholesome relationship with Gemma and little Mia whose recent biggest scandal was looking pissed off when he didn’t win perhaps…

Gio is a walking advertisement hoarding. He has more sponsorship deals on his body than a cyclist in the Tour de France.

I saw one of them - with zero irony - post on that thread, complaining about why there were so many posts on that thread. I mean, if Gio doesn't use the press for his own benefit occasionally, then that's an awful lot of money he's wasting on that PR agency 🥴

At first I wondered if they were implying that Jowita called the paps on poor innocent Gio, but the photoshop theory is even more batshit
 
I'm actually surprised Jowita went for him, you think she would want to establish a name for herself on her own and not be tied down; it not like Gio's love life is ever private :LOL:

See I don’t really get this argument. Whether it’s a PR stunt or they’re actually together, she’s still a professional dancer - and Strictly champion - first and foremost. Dating Gio or anyone else I doesn’t change that, and I’m sure the extra exposure that comes with it won’t do her any harm. Dianne definitely capitalised on her relationship with Joe and that was only her second series.
 
My take on the whole Gio/Jowita PR stuff is it all depends on whether Gio knew that the Rios would stalk guests at the party. Neither Gio or Jowita were tagged in that persons Insta story. So if he didn’t expect them to find Jowita then I think the sun story wasn’t intentional from his PR, as there was no comment I’m going with they turned into seeing how it would land. The daily mail stories - PR controlled and slowly confirming they are together without having to do some cheesy public announcement.
Jowita now whenever Gio is mentioned she will probably appear in the same article - keeps her name out there. Keeps them in the entertainment news and more than likely they get to have fun together in the mean the time. Win win for them.

I think with Gio being the more established pro and having more of a public profile than just being a strictly pro I do see her being more of Gio's girl in the tabloids at the moment which of course is a shame. Of course she will always be a strictly champion thats a fact, although sometimes as a strictly viewer I forget that Katya has won the show and the same with Alijaz when he was on it just because they won it so early.

I think it will definitely giver her the extra exposure and as I said before in previous posts its about what you do with your time on the show; I just hope just like Kai and Nadiya it all goes well for them now they have pinned their colours to the masts as it were.

Was it someone here or on DS who said that Gio's new PR person, who used to do One Direction, costs c. £5k per month?? that is a lot of money! so I'd expect some stories coming soon of Gio and Jowita together professionally maybe - maybe practising together. Bad timing they have separate tours now though. Can't do the Kai and Nadiya pap shots coming off the bus together.
 
Gios new PR with clients like - Claudia Winkleman, Davina, Jack Whitehall, Christine Lampard - Im going with more career driven PR with perhaps a few shopping photos and a maybe a dinner date photo every now and again, when a bit of exposure is needed.
