I wouldn’t want to just use original tracks and no band. Aside from the fact Dave Arch is part of the family getting rid of the band would mean they’d have to find music that actually fits the dance rather than the band working on adjusting songs to fit. As for the singers I think it’s just the acoustics of metal tin can they film on that makes them sound so off sometimes. Those studios aren’t built to be sung in.

I made the mistake of following the Facebook Strictly page the year Alexandra Burke was on. To sum it up as diplomatically as possible: virtually all its followers spent every waking moment berating, deriding, and maligning Burke, celebrated when she didn't win the series, then—after news circulated shortly afterwards that her mental health was adversely affected by the awful media-perpetuated smear campaign against her during her time on the show—those same followers basically acted obtuse and pretended not to know why she was experiencing those issues.

I unfollowed the page after that incident.

Like any strand of fanaticism, the hardcore Strictly base can be super-toxic.

Vito did a story this morning thanking everyone and went on at length about the professionalism of the whole Strictly team from top to bottom and how grateful he was to be a part of it. I bet he was thinking about Flintstones dances, slings, begging for insta likes etc..

I've seen people say Graz might leave to join his wife Giada on the Italian version, and I can see why of course, but he must also be wondering if it would be worth the professional indignity..

There might be a space for Giada if Karen, Amy or Dianne (or all of them) leave. I think she'd be more likely to come over here for the Strictly season with him.

Because there has only been 5 eliminations and one kicked off the show. One of the eliminations was a double so in 10 weeks they have only had 4 shows with eliminations o_O It's all rather baffling but I suspect that's deliberate.

Oh good God, what did I just watch? I didn't think it was possible for something to be worse than that Simpsons dance. Someone save Giada and get her on Strictly.
 
I do think there is a chance of Graz going to join Giada over there at some point. I don't see Strictly hiring Giada (just like how they didn't take on Michael with Jowita) and it must be difficult to be separated for so much of the year. Ballando is rubbish but unless he really wants a long term career in the UK, I can't see what staying on Strictly for much longer would offer him.

I get that impression too, Giada seems happy there so I can't see her jumping, and it would appear they want to settle down in Italy.
Graz does tend to nip back throughout the season when a chance presents itself so I suppose it depends on how he feels about boomeranging for 4 months a year.

I suppose there are the tours too, which must be quite lucrative, and which he wouldn't be doing once he left. But yeah, again, that takes him away from his wife. Giada danced on Here Come the Boys and some of the SCD pro dances I think last year?

It’s not the worst comment by far that I’ve seen but FFS, “the nation” voted and Hamza got the most votes. Helen probably did get lots of votes too but not enough and the undertone of this comment is obvious imo.

I guess there are more opportunities here for work after Strictly with the various Tours? Are they something that happens with other franchise?
