It’s DS folklore that the Georgia and Gio thread got forcibly separated into individual threads as it all turned into a slanging match after they split.

I still find it hilarious that anyone was surprised they split- they got together super-publicly and he had barely lived in the U.K. or spoken English for more than a few months, she had just come out of back to back serious relationships, they were both really young and moved in together after about 5 minutes.

Thats not her fault though. She has said absolutely nothing. If anything it is the ex and his girlfriend who have kept the story in the public eye by posting loved up pictures on social media, knowing the tabloids are trawling their accounts looking for posts. Announcing a pregnancy when his youngest child isn't even one yet, getting their friends to talk to the press about how upset she is that she is being abused on Twitter. Neither of them is in the public eye. They don't need to post anything on public social media for their jobs, but still continue to do so. None of that is Helen using her sob story for votes.

Yeah, I know that it isn't Helen's fault that the subject is brought up.

I’ve really warmed to Fleur. My main man Vito has brought out her playful fun side. He’s been a superb addition to the show, slotted in so quickly & it feels like he’s been there for years. His choreography is fabulous. Love him to bits!

An absolutely brilliant addition to the pro team. Completely agree that it seems like he has been there always.

Fleur and Vito are brilliant - and also hilarious together.
It's another of the partnerships that I think will last beyond Strictly - one of the times I will believe if they say 'friends for life'.

I felt a bit emotional about what Kym said, on her departure. I think it was partly because she mentioned her dad, and got slightly upset. I so love Graziano, I am delighted that they got as far as they did. I genuinely think Kym thought she would be eliminated early doors. And then she allowed herself to start enjoying it more as she went further.

I know someone had to go but I wouldn't necessarily have wanted it to be her.

just a poor homesick sad boy, wandering the cold streets of london, dreaming of the italian coast following an assortment of models on insta, just longing for a small taste of home because goodness knows you can’t get italian food anywhere in the uk.

The fall out when Georgia and Gio split up just before the dah dah dah’s the next year was epic. I mean I’m not over fussed about Laura Whitmore but she was <I assume> paired with Gio because she was friends with Georgia/had the same agent and because of the … over invested … fandom she ended up barely able to stand next to him without being called a scarlet woman. (Gerorgia tweeting, hey don’t blame Laura, guys … it’s not her fault … didn’t exactly help either)

His Appreciation Thread had some sort of collection and bought him a hamper of italian food and a cookbook that they tracked to his residence … but he never thanked them. The gymnastics being performed to account for this (although it had reached his building, it was still waiting for him to collect, etc, etc) and then he posted a selfie with the hamper in plain sight and it all went quiet.

I imagine he was too busy contacting the police and his solicitor to get a restraining order to send a thank you card. This might be the most batshit thing I’ve ever read.

No actually I’m sure there was a Kai and AJ loon who tracked them down at their hotel during the tour the night AJ went to see it. You know to monitor their interactions. Some people on DS could be genuinely dangerous I swear to god

I agree. For me, mind you, I had absolutely no idea about her private life whatsoever. Dont read the tabloids or IG, etc. The only reason I vaguely knew who she was because she was on every wishlist on DS. But it's when I started seeing constant comments regarding her ex, it seemed like the only time people spoke about her was in relation to him. So, it seemed to me that was the main reason people were supporting her. It's just seemed to be a constant stream of, "You go Helen. That will show him".

But I like that the final is more unpredictable. It's a toss up between Helen and Hamza but then there is the prospect of them cancelling each other out and Will sneaking the win. I'm doubtful the latter will happen. But if he avoids the DO again this week, you never know.

When someone catches your eye constantly in the things like the group dances you know they're good.

In the results show pro dance she was incredibly sharp and clean in her movements. I couldn’t stop watching her.

i (like a lot of people here i’m assuming!) saw her with gio on his tour earlier in the year and she really is

she would be a dynamic replacement for either amy or dianne imo. she draws your eye in all the group numbers (and makes it even more unfair that molly had to start that charleston dancing alongside her!)

I suppose some of the celebs must be reasonably used to having odd people come up to them and either berate or gush at them -I'm sure Kym and Felur had more than their fair share of that sort of thing online and in real life, and equally sure Helen/Will have had a few encounters where they've just had to grin and bear it for a few minutes whislt someone gabbled their ear off and wouldn't let go of their hand.

But one wonders how some of the less...experienced celebs are reacting to all this sudden attention. Hamza had less followers on Twitter/Insta than some knitting/sewing bloggers I follow, and sometimes looks like his insides are about to turn themselves upside down with awkwardness when even just Tess coos at him. One wonders what his reaction would be if someone turned up at his door in Ardnamurchan one day with a copy of his childrens book and a request to tell them all about his lovely friendly relationship with Jowita. I think he'd go lock himself in a neighbours shed and refuse to come out for a week, honestly.

I think the good people of Ardnamurchan will have a barricaded the village for him. They seem protective.
