Just on that note, when are the contestants on the SCD tour normally announced? I can't imagine Helen doing it, but Hamza might, I guess, and presumably Will. Last year there were 7 couples, including two from 2020 though Maisie was there to replace AJ. I can't see AJ doing it now so that would leave 5 others from this year: maybe Tyler, Fleur, Molly, Ellie S and Ellie T? I imagine Kym won't have time, and I can't see Tony being fit enough for it... Jayde sadly will be busy performing at the SuperBowl.

Question for the Strictly hive mind. I’m considering tickets to the Professionals tour in Brighton- as it’s my closest venue- for myself & my daughter, and maybe my folks as a Christmas pressie.
Its obviously quite a lot of money, so I guess what I’m asking is do people rate the Pro tour? Is it worth the journey & ticket price? The actual Strictly tour is well out of my budget.

I saw the Pro tour in 2019 and it was absolutely wonderful, including the band and the singers

Ellie T & Johannes: American Smooth to You’re My World by Cilla Black

Fleur & Vito: Couple's Choice to Destiny’s Child Megamix by Destiny’s Child

Helen & Gorka: Quickstep to Valerie by Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse

Kym & Graziano: Paso Doble to Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna / We Found Love by Calvin Harris ft Rihanna

Molly & Carlos: Jive to Bandstand by Boogie Barry Manilow

Hamza & Jowita: American Smooth to (Theme From) New York, New York by Frank Sinatra

Tyler & Dianne: Salsa to KC & The Sunshine Band Megamix by KC & The Sunshine Band

Will & Nancy: Samba to I Go To Rio by Hugh Jackman

Kym's been shafted then. How in the world are those songs suitable for a paso?

At last, something fun from mardy!

With Len retiring, I do think we might have a shot of getting rid of Shirley. Definitely think she'll audition and will leave us if she gets the gig. Wouldn't shock me if they went in-house though and promoted long term pro Cheryl Burke who is planning to stop dancing after 25 seasons in the same way that Strictly promoted Anton.

Regarding that interview with Sarah James and tension with pros, I can well believe that, it was around the time that James was axed, Ola was no longer happy, the Cliftons were taking over (with Kevin as teacher's pet, that had to rub some long termers up the wrong way), Aliona had Gregg that year and then decided that 2015 would be her last year, Kristina wanted to leave after 2014 as well etc, Robin was injured, Tristan may have felt disillusioned going from DWTS to SCD, Brendan was totally phoning it in after Sophie etc. I don't think some of the pros were happy with Louise Rainbow if I'm being honest.

The whole happy family thing is both toxic and creepy in equal measure, like a cult. If my workplace wanted to promote that, I'd run a mile at the earliest opportunity.
Wasn’t there some sort of tabloid exclusive about Karen and Ola having a spat?

edit:

I wonder which camp was The Source 🤔

Both tours are great. I do prefer the Pro tour because the Pros are really dancing, once you have seen them dancing live with other Pros you realise how much they hold back on Strictly. The one caution I would have is seat choices really matter in those sort of venues compared to the Pro tour so research your venue for the best views.

The Jordans were probably the source IMO and that may have been why James was axed. James & Ola probably hated the fact that Kevin & Karen were being promoted as the new Mr & Mrs Strictly. Though James maintained that he had fell out with the new producer (Louise) that year and that's why he left.

It sounds like it was a rehearsal argument that may have been a bit overblown. I can imagine tensions get high and some get emotional.

We went last year and loved it! We had been in 2019 at Pasha’s last tour and it was really good too. The format of this year’s was to talk a bit about some of the Pros, where they came from, how they got into dance and do a dance around that. There was a beautiful segment about Nadiya, Luba and Katya talking about their mums ❤. Kai and Neil both did a short bit of presenting and I’ve said it before - Neil was funny! He came out in a kilt and called himself an honorary Scotsman because he’s ginger and he and Kai bounced off each other (not in a weird dancing ritual though).

At that point (May) you could see real chemistry between Nadiya and Kai and we were only a few rows back so we could see how all the dancers reacted together - there looked to be a real friendship between Neil and Katya.

Very different line up this coming year but I’ve got tickets.

Yeah, to be fair it is pretty clear what side the source was on … although the idea of Pasha ‘holding back’ Karen fills me with joy. I hope he also could be heard muttering ‘leave it, Kaz, it’s not worf it’.
