Sorry, I know it's totally OT, but can someone very briefly fill me in one why Pratt is twit?

aside from what fillyjonk has said he also - abandoned his elderly cat on the street, thanked his current wife for giving him a ā€œhealthy daughterā€ (his son with anna faris being born premature and with health issues), has a history of animal mistreatment alongside the cat thing, belongs to hillsong, a famously homophobic and misogynistic church.

he also carries a hand built cross up a mountain every easter in honour of jesus.

The studio clips from yesterday have been posted

I'm still thinking Matt and James for bottom two. Richie doesn't look great, but I think him and Tony will have enough comedy stuff thrown in there to help

Agree that Tony will go far due to the comedy, Katya's fun, entertaining and innovative choreo is pleasing the viewers. Kym's laboured dancing continues, each song seems to be slowed down to give her time to think between each step. Matt still looks awkward, even his frame is not pleasing on the eye. It could go Matt and Kym in the dance off. Am sure that if James stays he will get better, he has the height and frame to be a good dancer, perhaps Katya or shelved Luba would get more out of him.

Edit: Hamza has beautiful lines, Nikita is doing lovely work adapting with Ellie, Gio and Richie seem to be gelling. Not sure why the dislike of Helen, she is a very striking dancer, having a natural dancers frame does help.

Keep looking at those clips and seeing more and more. :)

Agree about Kym - she looks like she's doing all the right steps in the right places, but I'm wondering if she's going to give it much welly on the night - just thinking about how low energy her jive was

I quite like James and wish he had Luba as a partner to liven things up a bit. And out of the three cha-chas, he has the most boring song too. Doesn't really bode well

I can't wait to see Helen's VW as I thought she had lots of potential with the AS. Possible unpopular opinion - I wasn't sure about her at first, but she seems to be really enjoying it this week and I love how no nonsense she is. Also slightly in awe of her resilience

Yeah, I don't get it tbh. Didn't know who she was before Strictly, still don't know and honestly not invested in her to find out. Are we just meant to feel sorry for her because of her horrible ex?
I wonder if part of it is because Gorka is so popular. I donā€™t have a particularly strong feeling about him but itā€™s good that he has a ā€˜journeyā€™ contestant who could be well known with various age groups - she did Blue Peter, she does Countryfile but has presenting swimming segments for the BBC before too.

I genuinely thought he would leave after last year, he looked so scunnered. Theyā€™re quite a twee pairing and I think over the next couple of weeks weā€™ll see some better dances (šŸ¤žšŸ»)

Everyone keeps saying this, but he's said he's not thinking of leaving at least twice in the last 12 months. I honestly think he just has resting witch face. And wasn't particularly enamoured with Katie. But I don't think he was as miserable last year as so many people seemed to think.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he left if he wins this year (though I hope not.)

To me he looked really down about having a partner who couldnā€™t commit to much training last year and I said at the time I thought he might leave. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve thought about it or said since the end of the series and Iā€™m glad heā€™s still there and has a partner heā€™s connected well with

Going from a few comments he made in interviews recently, I would guess he might stick around for another year after this - just saying stuff like he never gets bored of Strictly and generally singing it's praises. But injuries might be a factor too so who knows

Ariadne is recapping ITT as well as the main show. Very funny. I like her comment 'As for the men, itā€™s beginning to increasingly sound like theyā€™ll all just be sharing one leather jacket and wearing whatever they could bring in from home ā€“ itā€™s that classic 14 couple Movie Week fatigue!'

Yes, I agree he did seem a bit fed up with Katie's lack of rehearsal time, and does look happier this year. I felt that some people (not specifically you) here and on DS, were very OTT with the 'he hates her, he hates Strictly and is definitely gonna quit' narrative. Loads of people were practically acting like he should be on a suicide watch, even after he answered an Instagram question about leaving with 'why would I want to leave the best job in the world?' I really think that's just his face! šŸ˜‚

It's funny, the DWTS reddit does the same thing with Artem. People constantly speculating there's something wrong because he doesn't smile enough, or post enough on social media. Even though he only just got married a couple of months ago, so many people annoyed him with questions about why he wasn't wearing his wedding ring for a few days he even did a story explaining it was being resized.

The internet loves to exaggerate šŸ˜‚

At the moment I think itā€™s way to open to predict who might win/get to the final. Helen is nice and does have potential but shes that sort of nice that could make her seem a bit dull and possibly might fade away as others such as the Ellieā€™s and Hamza/Tyler over take her. If she was in the DO with say Molly or Will Iā€™m not sure sheā€™d survive depending on the dance.

I do think Gorka and probably Karen are headed towards the end of their time on strictly. I think theyā€™re both probably one bad injury away from stepping away. It wouldnā€™t be a shock to me if either left after this series. Gorka does seem happier this series probably helped by a partner who can commit decent rehearsal time and that he can stay at home with his family.

Itā€™s an odd one, isnā€™t it? I had a general pre-Strictly awareness of HS and no strong opinion on her either way, but Iā€™m baffled by the apparent inevitability from the outset that she was a nailed-on winner because her ex is a bit of a dick. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I am super-sceptical of the public's desire to vote for female contestants as winners. Rose was an obvious exception. Stacey had the girl-next-door quotient, partnered with a popular pro who lots of people thought was 'due' a win so Helen has that aspect though is less 'gor-blimey-what's-a-fleckerl?' than Stacey.

Helen has the sob story and lack of experience (though being a tap teacher might come out at some point to undermine her). Fleur and Molly are seen as ringers of some sort I think, as well as being WOC so won't win. (Molly is Sylvia Young so probably finalist but no cigar).

The other female winners in the last 15 years were Kara (great dancer, romance with Artem), Abbey (good dancer, I guess came across as likeable - I didn't watch that year) and Caroline (well known, overcame being a ringer with likeable personality + Pasha). For women it seems the absolute key is to avoid what I call the 'who does she think she is?' factor which attaches itself to any vaguely loud or confident woman. So this year I can only see Helen or potentially Ellie S. as female winners... or maybe Ellie T. if she pulls out some amazing dances further on.

For research purposes, I have just re-watched the Cry to Me scene in Dirty Dancing and I'd forgotten it was THAT bit.

Looking forward to finding out how Nancy is going to channel sexy foreplay into a ballroom routine
Cry To Me is probably my favourite song from Dirty Dancing and I've been waiting for them to use any song other than Time of My Life for Movie Week.
