I agree but she is still learning / perfecting her presenting skills imo. When people compare her to Rylan it’s not really fair — he’s been in this line of work for over ten years now. Janette can be kind of stilted but she’s a lot better than last year! She’s definitely learned how to let people answer without interrupting, which is good.

Vito and Fleur were fun on ITT (double denim and all🤣) and they look good together 👀
I agree and she's mostly stopped the constant clapping like an overexcited seal! 🦭

I think Janette is doing fine, although I prefer the show when Rylan is presenting. Rylan is quick-witted, imo and has a very natural rapport with people.
I loved his line (against himself 😁) one evening this week about not crying on tv 😂!

I didn't watch ITT very much last time around tbh but am enjoying it this time.

And I just can't take to Jayde, and I don't know why, it's puzzling me, never seen her on anything before, so it's not like I'm bringing preconceived notions to the party. She just...leaves me very cold, both in personality and dancing style.

I actually did like Jayde before but I'm not enjoying her on the show like I thought I would. Despite going on about being a superfan and how she's sooo happy to be doing the show she doesn't seem like she's enjoying it. I expected a lot more umph and joy in her dancing but she's holding back a lot. She also doesn't smile a lot which doesn't help- a bit like Kym she seems a bit morose.

Just a bit. Apparently if you're not a fan of certain pros, you prefer a circus act over good dancing. And this is in response to opinions in the unpopular opinions thread. If you can't air unpopular opinions there then what hope does that forum have?

I saw that one 🤣 Circus acts indeed.

If anyone was wondering whether couples choice has been ditched, it hasn't

Unpopular opinion: I don't mind CC if it has some meaning behind it and not just an excuse to get someone through to next week or do a stupid theme. It would also help if they brought back the categories so there was some sort of vague standard to judge it against

Will Bayley's is one of my favourites for that reason. I've enjoyed some of the ones that have no meaning but when you're doing something like The Simpson's it gets ridiculous.

The thing with the unpopular opinions thread is someone will criticise one of the pros, and then a fan of that pro will defend them and often try to deflect criticism on to another pro, and then a fan of that pro will defend them, and it just goes round in a circle 🥴

If they must keep CC, I wish they would make it a quarter final thing where everyone does it in the same week as well as another dance, then it wouldn't be so much of a free pass to the next week and it would make the shortest live show a bit longer.

Fear … rejoice
potato … potahto

Yeah, Will's is one of my favourites too. Because the sentiment behind it was so genuine it didn't matter that it wasn't technically perfect. And if they're going to stick with CC, that's what it should be about

But attempts to shoehorn in Ghostbusters/The Simpsons/Matilda etc can get in the bin

exactly! even greg wise’s last year hugely worked for me because, while it may not have been perfectly danced, it had a genuine meaning and sentiment to it.

they should ban cc’s from theme weeks in general, as trying to make it “fit” with something like matilda just doesn’t work (i’m still baffled by how overmarked that dance was, as much as i love nikita!)

See, some of the theme ones have been alright, Dev's Aladdin one and Faye's Halloween (I could watch that on repeat) one were good but The Simpsons one will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

ooo faye’s halloween one is a great example - but i think very much a one-off. i think they lucked out in that the jazz style could very much be incorporated into a halloween-y theme. dev’s worked for the same reason in style meeting with concept - but i just think giving them a theme makes it disingenuous almost and restricts the celeb in what they can do - rather than letting them dance a style and to a song that means something. faye’s was excellent, but i think maybe out of luck 🤣
