From what I saw on DS, there isn't anything much to the Dawn French rumour beyond her setting up an instagram account (which is probably more to do with her publicising her books). She's also said her and Jennifer Saunders have been asked loads before but wouldn't do it because they don't want to be the Anton joke act. Which to me, is usually code for, I just don't want to do Strictly, full stop

But this was pre-Bill Bailey, so anything's possible I guess 🤷

I think she’d be very much like Susan Colman in terms of comedy routines - unless of course she’s a good dancer.

I learned yesterday on the Rio Ferdinand thread yesterday that he was a ballet dancer when he was younger! Earned a scholarship to a ballet school
 
Yep - back to 2019 level signings. :( I googled him but everything I can find about him was just articles that he’s doing Strictly, absolutely no info on what he’s actually done in his career.

The first two announced on Wednesday had some promise. And please announce a woman at some point!

When you have celebs with street/commercial experience (like it seems Rhys has), I wonder if that might influence the pro they get paired with. Assuming it's likely that he might do that as his CC (if he gets to do one), then they could be more likely to pair him with Karen or Oti, than say Nadiya
 
From what I remember of the old French & Saunders and Vicar of Dibley, Dawn French was actually quite a competent dancer and extremely light on her feet for a ‘bigger’ girl. She was friends with Darren Bussell for quite a long time, so think she would be an interesting choice. Could go either way of comedy act Caroline or surprisingly good Bill.

And Chris Ramsey too - he tried hard, was popular, made it to the semis, didn’t get made into a laughing stock. I’ve often wondered if CR’s decent run might have been a factor in BB deciding to do it.

There have been surprisingly few comedians on SCD, and I don’t think the Seannnnnnnn debacle helped much in that respect, but I think CR & BB have made it a more appealing proposition.
