Yay no dreary dr who tonight so I won’t miss the beginning
It went on a bit long… thought they could have done some more stepsSo glad not just me who didn't think that Rose's spaghetti leg in the AT was not great!
for anyone who hasn’t seen it:
So different to other contemporary dances we’ve seen.
I felt so bad for Ashley that year. She wasn't my favourite but she was such a good dancer, and seemed a nice person, and was recovering from an awful thing happening. To be in the DO so many times must have been so dispiriting and she took it with very good grace. I remember at the time being appalled by all the mean comments about her on Twitter.Ashley's CC is the only dance I have ever cried too. That song really hits hard when you know that just the year before her father took his own life.
When I rewatch Ashley and Faye from that season, I’m still questioning how Stacey Dooley won?! It’s a Danny Mac kind of mysteryAshley's CC is the only dance I have ever cried too. That song really hits hard when you know that just the year before her father took his own life.
That aspect of the AT reminded me of that spectacular hot mess that was Alex Scott's AT, where that exact 'spaghetti leg' sequence [can never remember the proper technical name for that move...!] went on for even longer. I believe it nearly constituted half of the routine. It went on a bit long… thought they could have done some more steps

Yes all the hate for her was so undeservedI felt so bad for Ashley that year. Yeah, I guess she got together with Gio during the show so hopefully that was a help..She really showed her strength of character to be so gracious when it must have felt like a character assassination during one of the hardest times of her life. I didn't really know much about Ashley before Strictly but she's one of those people I am always pleased to see pop up somewhere I truly wish her well in life.
I saw errors in AJs quickstep but I love her so I didn’t matter also if Tilly’s CC can get a 40 so could her dance tonightI thought Rose and Gio’s AT was the best of the season. I do wish she had black tights on, the flesh coloured ones jarred with the dress. She is the best dancer by light years, and her acting talent is a great enhancement.
I think the judges wanted AJ in the final so they were desperate to overmark. To my eye there were clear mistakes in both the QS and the Rumba. Kai very cleverly disguised an arm placement error.
John was totally screwed by the producers in that jive music choice. I thought he did really well and has been consistently better than Rhys.

Are Stacey and Kevin still together I don't follow either on their socials?
Sorry if this has been answered in other threads, but is there a reason why Rose hasn't done a Charleston yet? She'd be good as she's naturally funny
They don't do all the dances, usually miss one or two! I assume it's a mix of the production team and pros that choose the dances?Sorry if this has been answered in other threads, but is there a reason why Rose hasn't done a Charleston yet? She'd be good as she's naturally funny
The Charleston's also done by outside choreographers, so there would have been that complicating factor when coming up with a routine. Maybe they thought they just couldn't pull it off in the time they had? They all miss out 2 dances, although it's never been skipped before by a semi-finalist. I suspect the decision to skip it was made because it can be quite difficult for her to keep in time not in hold especially if Gio isn't in her sight line. She spoke a little of how she keeps in time I think it was on itt after that I was sure she wouldn't do a Charleston.
Her saying last night she wished she had a 10* for Rose hopefully was a penny dropping. She - and Shirley I think - have completely diluted the 10 by overusing it. Craig is my barometer too for scoring (Anton’s had his moments too, getting all giddy with the scores ) so when he does give a 10 then you know it’s a Bobby dazzlerDon’t block me from the thread, but I’ve grown to like Motsi, considering I used to loathe her. I love her and Craig bantering and last nights Diana Ross disco look was so OTT and so far removed from anything Darcy would have worn, I loved it! It sits better with me when her sister isn’t dancing.
It seems to be a negotiation between producers and pros: John seems to have got 2 songs he wasn't keen on (Coldplay and Mary Poppins). I was positive we were leading up to a Coldplay appearance tonight or next week as there seemed no other reason to ruin the jive with that song.. Dan meanwhile said he had specifically asked at the start for the Eagles and got it.Her saying last night she wished she had a 10* for Rose hopefully was a penny dropping. This has maybe been answered but did we get to the bottom of who exactly gets to pick the songs? Rhys has mentioned a couple of times about having two specific songs he said he wanted to dance to (One Vision and I can’t remember the other one). But I can’t imagine Johannes picking Higher Power as a jive song (a couples choice maybe, lots of people believe in a higher power). It would surely have to be the same for everyone?
It turns out Kai requested Show me Heaven for the Rumba, as it was special to his late Grandma. AJ chose Golddust ( the jive), they jointly chose Make me Feel.It seems to be a negotiation between producers and pros: John seems to have got 2 songs he wasn't keen on (Coldplay and Mary Poppins). The pros come up with a list at the start for producers (having consulted celebs if they have preferences) but certain songs get imposed. Gio often seems to get good songs: I don't know if that means he gets his way with the producers or is lucky (he got traditional AT music which really enhanced their dance).
