I agree the dance had too much in it. I felt they were pushed into more risk because they have been undermarked so much. They then both pushed their bodies too much in the week and were really in pain ( looking at their insta stories all week) . They had outside choreographers for this dance, who should have realised and made adjustments. What they got right looked good though.I love AJ and Kai but I do think sometimes the pro's push their partners too hard, last night I thought she looked tired and she just couldn't do the lift at the end. Chucking everything at it is risky and a big ask. It didn't work out this time. I agree with someone else tho who said J and J didn't get marked down for their gaff at the end but AJ and Kai did! For me it doesn't matter who's fault it is, you mess up you mess up! The judges will turn a blind eye if it suits them.
Oh no, I disagree! They can shake their booty as much as they like, if it’s a good looking one ( Jake, Kelvin, John and Danny!)Pmsl
I find it cringey when the male dancers do the booty shake, no matter how talented they are, it just looks naff
Which of her dances do you think she was undermarked in? I thought she 100% deserved a 40 for her Charleston but she got 39 (and a 10 from Craig is still quite rare). She’s scored consistently high I think, and rightly soI agree the dance had too much in it. I felt they were pushed into more risk because they have been undermarked so much. Yeah, I didn't like it much, it looked like Rose was charging at him, and I thought she'd hit the floor the first time! but you're right, he was clever to big it up, as otherwise it was a very charming and lovely AS but maybe not that memorable.I wasn't keen on Rose's lift personally, but Gio was very clever to make such a big deal of it - even though Rose danced well, that routine needed a talking point that showed her off and got her lots of praise because it might have been a bit forgettable otherwise
I posted an article a few months ago where Chris Kamara said he’d been training with his partner for 6 weeks before the show but then had to pull out for health reasons.
It’s a lot more contrived now - the one thing that really rips my husband’s knitting is in the VT when the contestant has to pretend it’s the first time they’re learning what dance they’re doing - he gets disproportionately annoyed by it
Based on her Samba, I thought there was too much put on her in the Salsa. Maybe they thought she could handle it because she’s so good, maybe it’s because it’s so close to the final and it’s a tough year or maybe there was the pressure of John and JoJo doing a salsa - whatever it was, it really went wrong and it was probably inevitable given she looked exhausted from the offYeah, I didn't like it much, it looked like Rose was charging at him, and I thought she'd hit the floor the first time! but you're right, he was clever to big it up, as otherwise it was a very charming and lovely AS but maybe not that memorable.
Flavia is on BBC Breakfast now she’s saying AJ had too many lifts - too tiring to rehearse, even for the pros, which was interesting.
I've read people saying that due to her not getting a 40 yet they maybe felt they had to up the ante. But chucking in more lifts doesn't really help as they alone are not going to get you high marks and have high risk. I just don't think AJ's Latin is that good. I know external people helped choreograph that, but you can bet your bottom dollar Gio would have overruled them if it was for Rose.Based on her Samba, I thought there was too much put on her in the Salsa. I think you’re right, and as someone said last night (sorry I can’t remember who it was), Kai is still the new guy and maybe didn’t feel like he could speak up.I've read people saying that due to her not getting a 40 yet they maybe felt they had to up the ante. [I am not surprised AJ was in the bottom two. It was a messy dance and she did look tired and stiff in places. I think if Rhys hadn’t been as good it would have been a Dan/Rhys dance off. We got the result we wanted though Dan gone. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shirley voted to save him
Last week’s CC and the AT especially.Which of her dances do you think she was undermarked in? I thought she 100% deserved a 40 for her Charleston but she got 39 (and a 10 from Craig is still quite rare). She’s scored consistently high I think, and rightly so
This is what it comes down to in the end. If you watch for her timing and the way she finishes (or sometimes doesn't finish) her moves in Latin, none of it is quite right. She has a bloody good go at it but her salsa was much like her samba - pretty messy, doesn't flow and you can tell she's not comfortable doing it.
Though I do think a lot of the problem last night was the routine. No need for the kitchen sink to be chucked at it when they could have just choreographed something that showed her strength and progression in Latin rather than having all those lifts. Salsa doesn't need to be playing keepy-uppy with your partner, FFS.
I should clarify I am a total teamkj shipper, so I may be biasedLast week’s CC and the AT especially.

Don't need show dances until the final. I actually like a traditional dance which is perfect rather than bang wham whallop and averageI too felt that this was the main problem with it. If they'd removed some of those lifts, they could have spent more time perfecting the rest of the routine. Nothing wrong with just some basic salsa!
I rewatched their AT and I personally think 35 was a fair score and I think John and JoJo were overmarked for theirs (they were probably on par imo)
I don’t think she was undermarked for her couple‘s choice either, I expected much more and think she struggled last week too
Yeah, I think the problem is also: where do you go in the final for a showdance, when we've already seen all the lifts?Don't need show dances until the final. I actually like a traditional dance which is perfect rather than bang wham whallop and average
