Of course they can - but it is unusual to book training halls and carrying on dancing, and at the same time gush about how you’ll miss your dance partner’s laugh and changing the words of the song he wrote for his wife’s lyrics to add in his dance partner. At best it’s disrespectful, at worst it’s deliberately making a fool out of their partners.

Tom and/or Amy are not as popular as they thought and imo, they can’t handle being voted off because they expected to get to the final. Going dancing with Amy because he’s got nothing better to do (his words) - even though he has three kids (one of whom isn’t at school I believe) is odd. I would think a lot of contestants want to keep dancing but this is the first time I’ve heard of anything like this.

John and Johannes and Rose and Gio are both popular here, with the contestants both being in relationships. People would say the same thing if they were behaving like this.

Cynthia is back tonight so I’m expecting some sarky comments from Tom on IG, given they’ve already made digs about the judges getting it wrong. Nice people aren’t normally bitter losers!

Unless she was pinged in Germany and couldn't travel back? Agree it does seem strange to allow people to faff backwards and forward around Europe, for environmental reasons and pandemic reasons. Do we have no UK based dancers or judges?

God this I heartbreaking. I might have missed this but I'm glad that unlike some celebrities, he's not used this as an excuse to get votes



I wonder how Tom's coping today. I'm better he'll be in the studio audience desperate to get on camera or step in if Craig feels ill. Personally I can't wait to see Amy's resting witch face today

All those thing are super weird on their own, but together, they are madness! Why would you do that and tell everyone about it? I think Tom's ego is being stroked by McFly fangirl Amy!

Thanks for sharing that, I remembered Gary Speed had been on TV that day but I didn’t know it was Soccer Saturday. I don’t think Dan has mentioned that before and I hope people see that that’s a clip from the BBC Sport account rather than Dan’s own one.

OT but I remember where I was when I heard about Gary Speed’s death, Christmas shopping in Dundee. It was such a shock but I don’t think it has ever been reported what was going on for him - and nor should be, but there has been speculation. To people looking in he had a great life but mental health illnesses don’t care if you’re talented or rich or have kids or anything really…A lot has changed in the last 10 years, but there is still nowhere near enough resources sadly, especially for men. May you always rest in peace Gary

I don't want to derail this thread but I remember being shocked at the time and it must be devastating to not have truly known what he was going through and be able to help. It has made me see Fan jn a different light, but still not enough to stay in after this week

I’ll never forget the moment I found out he had died, so shocking and upsetting. Beautiful tribute from Dan though, he may not be the best dancer on the show but I think he’s a really good guy. At the end of the day it’s not his fault people keep voting for him.
