Well we all know Steve has mental health issues. I remember in one of his vlogs he said he didn’t like crowds. But it doesn’t alter the fact that ‘dead from the neck up’ Rache could have taken the kids, or they could just have had a firework display in the garden. It’s so awful to think those kids will never experience anything growing up. And they never mix with anyone. Only people they see is sour faced Val and Bill.

Mens mental health is very important, lets get that out of the way first. However, Steve massively overplays his anxiety as an excuse to be lazy. He's never too anxious to go to Tesco when they run out of drinks. He's never too scared to go on holiday or to go to Skegness so he can stuff his face. He might be anxious to vlog in public but wouldn't we all feel uncomfortable whipping out a camera and talking to it in the middle of Home Bargains? He'll have good days and bad days with his mental health but the majority of the time, he's able to function like a normal person. The reason they don't put an effort in for the kids is because they're bone idle and would rather push their laziness and loner-tendencies onto the kids for an easier life. I can't even sympathise with Rache because the amount of parents, and some of those won't have a partner to help, who work 8 hours straight and then go home and put in the effort with their children. Heck, some people have to look after everyone else's children all day and then go home to their own and they STILL take their kids pumpkin picking, to the park, to fireworks displays etc. They both make joint decisions to not do anything with theirs or their kids' lives. Perhaps if they didn't buy the kids so much useless tat for xmas that never gets touched, they'd have more money to spend throughout the year on experiences for the family. Or Steve could you know, get a job and send his daughter to a specialist school who can give her a priceless gift - an education!!

Taking care of yourself and your mental health is one of the most important things you can do. However we all know that they don't put any effort into helping themselves.

Lacey is a child, she would be entitled to free mental health services as well as receiving all the care she needed in a specialist school. Things like that will be a lot harder for her to access once she becomes an adult. They should be getting her the help she needs now because I'm not sure she would actually reach out for it on her own once she gets older.

Your only a child once and the window of opportunity to spend time together and make memories is very small. They have a 6 year old little girl in that house who is missing out on things just because Steve says that none of the other children are interested.

I don't actually believe that. I think the children might say that because they know that he doesn't actually want to celebrate things. When he said that he had only brought one pumpkin Liam asked Why? That tells me that he actually wanted to do a pumpkin. If Liam didn't want to celebrate Halloween he wouldn't have gone Trick or Treating with Chloe. If the children didn't want to celebrate Bonfire night, they wouldn't have watched the fireworks out the window.

If they told the kids they were taking Chloe to a big firework display and treating her to a hot dog would all of the other kids refuse to go? I doubt it!

I have friends in their 20s who were carving pumpkins and decorating for halloween last week. Sophie would've seen loads of it on social media and would've definitely wanted to partake off camera. Teen girls are heavily influenced so if she'd have seen the likes of Molly-Mae etc doing it, she'll have thought its cool enough for her to do. Lacey loves her art and its something they could've done while homeschooling - pumpkin carving and learning how different groups of people celebrate halloween. Too much like hard work for Steve to educate himself though, let alone his child. The kids have never lost interest in xmas or their birthdays so why would halloween be any different really? Its because Steve makes out that they're too old for it and that its something to be embarrassed about that they have these attitudes towards anything remotely 'childish'.
 
YouTube had one of his old halloween vlogs in my recommended, so I watched it to see the difference. Both parents took the 3 older kids trick or treating and Val and Bill came to babysit Chloe who was only 1. Seemed like they where out for quite a while, walking around. Lacey happily joining in and going to all the houses. And now the last couple of years, not even 1 parent has taken Chloe trick or treating. I think that's pretty poor parenting. At least one parent should have taken Chloe, and Liam too if he still wanted to go. Lacey possibly would have went too if her mum or dad was there.

I wonder what they've done for Chloe's birthday. My guess is open presents then she spent the day on her iPad as usual.

With Lacey's anxiety, getting help now could make such a difference. They're making it so much worse now by keeping her home all the time. We've seen than Lacey can join in with things, even though she may seem anxious but that's a good start that she's willing to try! With some anxiety management this could be easier for her and enable her to do more. There's services that Lacey is entitled to and an appropriate education she's entitled to but they're doing absolutely nothing about it but I bet they're happily taking the money she's entitled to. The reason they don't take her anywhere is nothing to do with her anxiety because they don't take any of the kids anywhere, it's because Steve and Rache are exceptionally lazy!
 
Honestly how can they even make an excuse for not taking their 6 year old out on their birthday? You take your kid out rain or shine. The fact they were in a mood shows how little they care. You’re meant to make an effort to be happy from the second your child wakes up to the second they go to sleep on their birthday. The one day a year that can solely be about them, especially as she has 3 siblings who she has to share attention with for the rest of the year. Rache and Steve aren’t arsed about birthdays so they haven’t bothered to make it a special occasion for the kids ever really. The only occasion they’re arsed about is Christmas which is why they go all out. If Steve didn’t like that one, I’m sure it’d be a ‘device fest’ all day.
 
Definitely agree. My daughter just had her 6th birthday and we threw a party for her and 35 of her friends. It wasn't even expensive... we put a bit away each week so she can have a party each year... it really isn't hard. I feel absolutely gutted for Chloe. What was the point in her even getting dressed for the day... oh sorry for the 5 minute visit from Grandad (can't believe Val didn't come because of a bad back... don't believe that was the real reason for a second) She wanted to stay in pj's so should have been allowed to on her birthday if that's what she wanted as she wasn't even going anywhere or doing anything anyway.

Liam got to stay in his dressing gown so why did they make Chloe get dressed. They should've made Liam get dressed as well then. What was the point in that? Talk about all dressed up and nowhere to go. They could've at least taken her out for her lunch or to the cinema. They're not short of money.
 
Another day at home for Chloe. Lovely 🙄 I’ve noticed the others are always in a mood when it’s not about them. Can’t one person make a little effort for once. Give them something to look forward to. If the older ones don’t want to do anything well sod them and take Chloe out. You’re ok leaving them to mooch around 94906

Poor Chloe 😞 They didn’t even need to spend money. Just go to the park! She never goes anywhere so even the park would have been a birthday treat. It’s really weird they didn’t take advantage of bonfire night and take the kids out to watch fireworks and celebrate her birthday. Didn’t leave the house in half term. That poor kid. Awful awful parenting
 
What a depressing birthday for a 6 year old. Everyone in a mood and moaning and a karaoke machine meaning she would be staying indoors. Surely that wasn’t planned by Steve at all. Imagine if she asked for a bike. They could have done a little party for her at home with party food even if it was just for them or taken her out by herself, even if just to MacDonald’s or something. They are awful parents
 
The teachers will be getting her to write about her half term and birthday today. "Surely mummy and daddy took you out once" the teachers will be saying. They'll be thinking she just doesn't want to write but in reality, she really has done sweet F all over the holidays.
