I didn't appreciate just how utterly mahoosive the place is! Fair play to her, but what a project...! Even the garden is about 10 times as big as what she's shown.

I work in property and always say to people what a nightmare listed buildings can be, you need various planning permissions and consents to do any structural work, and sometimes internal stuff too - even replacing a window can be complicated. Hopefully she's got the right advisors... 😬

I assume she meant get rid of the carpet cause there’s no way they’ll be allowed to shift the stairs in grade 2 property. I think they’ll be in for a shock with the things they are and aren’t allowed to do, I can’t see that she’ll be allowed to move the walls around in the ‘front room’ either, it’s all about preservation.
 
Christ she really does sound like Frank Spencer 😂 I don’t get why she’s acting like she’s in love with all the old fashioned bits like the built in wardrobes in Rex’s bedroom, they’re not original, they look 1970-80s maybe? Not worth being sentimental about.
And I don’t get why she’s obsessed with the windows - lovely having so much light but they aren’t the original wood frames and they don’t look like real leaded windows either, they look like old UPVC? We have hardwood frames with single glazed leaded windows and Art Deco stained glass, her windows look like the shitty plastic windows installed in our old fashioned kitchen extension.

I cant listen to the stupid bint. I have to just read, even that makes me want to punch myself in the face. The place is a god damn state. Will cost thousands to sort it out.
 
I dont know much about this woman but I've been deluged with unwanted information about this fucking cottage for the last 48 hours. Every time I see her gormless toothy grin staring back at me I'm envisaging the one brain cell ping ponging inside her empty skull. Is she on meds? Because she looks absolutely vacant in every image I see of her. She reminds me of cleetus the slack jawed yokel from the Simpsons. What grown adult calls a house 'pickle' I can only imagine she has the learning level of an 8 year old.
 
Do you know what I find annoying about all this. How can someone who decided it was a good idea to spray paint a perfectly good carpet now be contemplating renovating a grade two listed property?? You can’t renovate a solid wood 1970s kitchen with a roll of sticky back plastic a glue gun a load of empty jars and a can of spray paint. Also Rex and that tiny dog running round that garden give me the fear!!

She's probably calling it pickle cottage as to not give the real name when talking about it. It's all for content. I doubt she will be changing it, way too much of a faff!

My friend owns a listed building and her words were 'you never truly own a listed building even if your a cash buyer, as you are told what you can and can't do down to what kitchen or front door etc' it's mental really.
She wasn't allowed to replace rotten joists in the attik only allowed to attach new wood to support. How stupid is that, no one's seeing bloody joists!
