I’ve thought this for ages! I always think Sophie gets way more hate than Dave. I feel like everyone is constantly saying Sophie made Dave move, to be closer to her family. Like I’m sorry is it not possible that’s a decision they made together as a couple?

Also so many keep saying she could move to be closer to Dave.. 1 - London is very expensive and 2 - has anyone thought how much that might unsettle Barney with school etc? I’m guessing not!

Nobody is hating anyone. As someone said upthread, we don’t know them to hate them. Using school as an excuse is a non starter as Dave got this contract before Barney started. London is expensive, but they’re currently paying two lots of rent. She has nothing keeping her where she is other than I genuinely think she doesn’t like that Dave is now successful.

Things to remember which are fact:
1. London is expensive but not as expensive as having 2 rents and train tickets
2. Barney only started school in September, hardly uprooting him from school especially as she could have moved BEFORE he went.
3. Soaf's mum moved to LA to be with new boyf. Her posh sister has very little to do with her and the rest are just children themselves. So no support left there!
4. London is really the only place to be for a stage actor, even the touring shows are auditioned in London.
5. Soaf is actually (apparently) a trained teacher so could work anywhere if she hadn't jacked it in because it wasn't for her...after 2 weeks!

I can't stand either of them but it seems very odd to me there is suddenly someone coming in here just saying Dave's selfish just out of the blue. There is NO reason that she couldn't move down south, she is the one who is selfish...oh and a scammer (8.5 weeks since a Patreon and still no giveaway!).

Just done a bit of history digging, probably not her sister or her but Lauren has certainly changed her tune from a while ago:

"God I hate that witch Her sickly sweet posts are so gross" is just an example of many Soaf hating posts... 🤷‍♂️

Actually I'll change my tune as well...they are BOTH selfish pricks and the only one that will suffer is Barney :(
 
I think it’s really unfair to call Dave selfish for chasing his dream all while financially supporting his family. It’s not like he signed up to be away from his family this much for years, originally it was a year sacrifice. Which turned into two. This isn’t forever for him, he’s doing what he is passionate about and talented enough to do while his opportunities are here for him and his family. My Mother was an air hostess. Which required sacrifices too and time away with family etc. I would never ever call my Mother selfish for doing what she loved for a career for herself and me. Our parents are allowed dreams too.

This is in no way saying they’re still not annoying and fail Barney in other aspects btw because I fully am outraged at them most of the time 😅😅 but wow, to say that just because he’s working his arse off is a mad take in my opinion!!! ✋🏼

Not sure if you are referring to me or the other person but can confirm I’ve been here a while, so I’m definitely not Soaf 🙂

Literally everyone in here was commenting not too long ago how they thought that bungalow was rented off a family member. So for all we know it could be costing next to nothing for her to rent that, if that’s the case.
I also remember her saying her dad has Barney for her in one of her videos. So I think to say she’s completely unsupported is a little bit of a stretch.
For a long time in here a lot of us also have thought Barney could have additional needs, so why he might of not been in school, uprooting his could cause problems.
I understand that London is the place to be for a staged actor I don’t disagree!

I’m not defending Sophie and tbh I literally can’t stand both of them! I think she’s an awful person and Dave couldn’t be more self centred if he tried.

Also another point to be made is the bungalow is a state after them living in it for a couple of years, but it’s in a nice area. I don’t think they would get much for their money in London and probably in an area that isn’t as nice as where she is now.

I’m someone who has recently moved from a city with a young child and I’d honestly never go back. 🙂
 
I think Dave is very much enjoying his theatre life and doesn’t really miss his son that much. So in that sense I agree with the poster who said he’s selfish. Sophie is not a great parent from what I can see but she is doing a lot of it on her own. And she does have a job now aswell.

I understand he trained for this job and it is a dream. But he has a son at home, who has additional needs and he's fully aware Sophie probably doesn’t support him as much as she could. If he’s saving loads of money from this job for the future, then fair enough but I doubt that’s the case either.

At the end of the day they both aren’t great parents and put their own needs first. Poor Barney (and Chip) getting lumbered with them as parents. The only saving grace is that it doesn’t look like there will be another baby on the cards.
 
On the previous point of them making decisions as a family, I've never come across a couple who seem so completely incapable of making rational adult decisions. They've flitted from one thing to another, often with no future planning or thought involved. Suddenly leaving Dave's mum's and the Basingstoke flit to Soaf's mum's ensuite bedroom are just two that instantly spring to mind.

They've stayed in the beige bungalow longer than anywhere else which is further evidence to me that they've got it for free or at mates rates.

Agreed! At least like someone said previously the only sensible decision they seem to be making at the moment, is they don’t seem to be having another child.

However I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve made some agreement that he gets to do this final year, then when he comes home she gets another baby. Since you know Soph thinks it’s just that easy 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree with this. I don't agree that fatty is selfish for doing a job he was trained for. He finally has a job, a really good one at that. He is selfish in every other way though.

I'll never forget when he had his covid jab, Barney brushed against it and he acted like he had been shot with a magnum at close range. He was so angry/annoyed at a baby!! I honestly don't think he wanted to be a dad and he definitely doesn't want more.

My dad worked one year as security at festivals which meant he missed us returning to school/my siblings first day ever at nursery/school and my mother was always there. Years later, I have much more respect for my dad for doing what he needed to do, I missed him so much because he was and is my best friend but he was doing it for his family and that's what Dave is doing. I don't doubt he's doing it for himself first but at least he's doing it, ya know?

I bet Soph would jump at the chance to work away from Barney for a year. Just because she's the parent that's there, doesn't make her a decent parent. They're both awful people and the kid and dog deserve way better no matter which way you look at it.
