Just watched her stories. I swear all they do is tease and rile up that dog. I guarantee when Barney comes they’ll be egging Chip on to ‘kiss’ his brother. And laughing when Chip barks in Barney’s face and makes him cry.

I was just watching last night's vlog and was thinking this. They should be taking the new house as an opportunity to ban chip from their bedroom before the baby arrives but instead they actively encourage him to jump on the bed and then they're falling over themselves to call him a good boy for doing it!
Barney's going to be in the snuzpod or in bed with Sophie feeding and have chip jumping all over him.

We have a cat who used to sleep on our bed at night but once I got to 7 months pregnant we started to close our bedroom door at night so she would learn to sleep elsewhere before the baby arrived. We also set up the snuzpod and moses basket early to let her explore but kept the plastic on the mattresses while she did.

Or takes a large lump out of Barney's arm "Oh Chip you're so funny, I love you so much". Children left in charge of an untrained dog and a baby. Not a good combo.

What confuses me is how they moved in but didn't have any shower gel/soap just one bottle of shampoo (which I would have used as shower gel in that situation). What were they using at Sophie's mum's house?! Oh yeah, mum's stuff!

I have an image of them sitting in the house, once all of the helpers have finished moving them in, watching DVDs and eating Domino's and drinking (in Sophie's words "cheap, cheap") squash and suddenly getting to bed time and not having pyjamas, face wash, toothbrush, clothes for the next day....

Yes I was thinking the same. It just seemed weird that they were officially moving in and they only had a bottle of shampoo. They were obviously using her mum's products as you say.

I don't know if I can call it disrespectful (I can't think of the correct word) but I found it a little out of line when Dave used the babywash. That was bought for their child, not for Dave to use when they realise they don't have anything to wash with.

It made me laugh when Dave said that getting a takeaway pizza is just something you do when you move in. Ok, fair enough, I'd probably do the same, but didn't he have a massive pizza and chips like two days ago for dinner?

I think there's always a worry with dogs around children, even with the best trained dogs. They are animals and unpredictable, I say that as a pet mum who loves her animals more than life.

Exactly right. He is not showing signs of a dog that is going to attack a baby any more than another dog. And of course with any dog you are always cautious and would never leave unsupervised. The worry may lie in that they won't supervise properly but the dog itself is not showing any sign of agreassion etc.

I wouldn’t say he’s aggressive but definitely rough in play. Unmonitored, I would be worried about that more than an actual attack on the child (a small finger in the way of a toy Chip wants, trampled underfoot by mistake at a tender age). Those are the things I would lose sleep over.

Also, is it true animals can begin to show signs of jealousy in some cases when a newborn is introduced to the home? Negative attention seeking, urinating in places they shouldn’t, things of that sort? I wonder what Chip’s response will be when Barney is first brought home.

It can happen but think of all the 1000s of homes that have dogs. I have 3 dogs and they showed no issues with my newborn but I couldn't have know for sure nor can all the 1000s/millions of other dog owners out there with babies.

Yes they can. We trained our dogs and we continued to train them when our son was born. They were fine with him and didn’t show signs of jealousy but then we trained them and still train them to this day. We also would never leave him alone in a room with our dogs. Now our son in 3yrs old and we’re teaching him not to pull them about or climb on them it’s hard work but I don’t see these two doing that at all. Especially the way Chip plays it’s very rough and dominating

This pair will just claim Chip is a dream and is super loving and protective of his little brother. When in reality they won’t show the side of him on the vlogs which is territorial and growls at Barney. Chip’s made them enough money through pins, they wouldn’t let him be shown as the villain now.

All you haters fat shaming this lovely.... dog..... WHY DO I DISLIKE IT SO MUCH 😂🤣😂🤣

Why would you want to live in a kitchen? I'd understand if it was open plan into an area you can put a sofa and TV in, but their kitchen just seems so long and narrow. In the space she pointed out for the moses basket I'd be putting a dog bed or crate in for Chip so he has a comfy quiet space to rest if he wants to get away from a screaming baby!
I thought the same. Sofa will make it crowded and they won’t use the dining table properly. Why not sit in the lounge? It’s a nice size and you can have toys all out for the baby and get a baby gate on the door to keep chip out when you do things like tummy time.
I’m personally not concerned about chip and the baby, my friends lab isn’t the best trained dog but he’s perfectly fine with the baby. You just have to teach the boundary straight away and dogs tend to get it.

I really wanted to comment “us normal working people call it “just squash” 😂
