Anyone ever done a cruise on their own?
No but I've been wondering about this tooAnyone ever done a cruise on their own?
I want to do the Norway Fjords and was looking at a 7 night one on the Iona next Summer, the price quickly racks up though when you're on your own. Don't know if it would be better to fly into Bergen and see if I can do a day boat trip from there xNo but I've been wondering about this too
Probably if your main goal is the destination and not the cruise experience itself (not sure if I would enjoy it or not tbh) you might be better off making your own way there xI want to do the Norway Fjords and was looking at a 7 night one on the Iona next Summer, the price quickly racks up though when you're on your own. I found a company that does shorter cruises from and to destinations within NorwayProbably if your main goal is the destination and not the cruise experience itself (not sure if I would enjoy it or not tbh) you might be better off making your own way there x
I’ve always wanted to try a cruise as well. I just don’t understand how the drinks work, do you have to pay extra? I see drinks packages when I search about it but can’t see the option on how you book a drinks package when you book the cruise?
I would say it is very difficult. In tourist season (july/august) maybe but you definitely need.to.organise it before you go there. Some Airbnb places have drivers they can advise you of but then you do need to think you might be in the middle of nowhere for a while without shops etc in walking distance (depends where obviously)Does anyone know if it's possible to travel to the countryside abroad without being able to drive? I've seen some gorgeous Tuscan farmhouses on Airbnb that aren't too expensive and I'd absolutely love to stay in one one day but they all say you need a car to get there.
I don't drive so hiring one is not an option. Would a taxi or a private transfer be possible or is it too far out? And would it be crazily expensive? Should I give up on my Tuscan dream? TIA
It's pretty within the walls and worth a day trip. It's populated and touristy so I'd imagine it's safe but for possible pick-pockets. Some nice beaches not too far too.Has anyone been to Carcassonne? Is it worth going? How long for? And as a solo female?
Have you been to the highline? It’s one of my fave spots in the city and I visit every time I go back.I’m going to be spending a couple of solo days in New York soon. I’ve been a few times before so done all of the obvious stuff, but my last visit was about 10 years ago so wondering if anyone has top tips for things to do & see that are either new-ish or a bit off the usual tourist track? Not planning on venturing too far from Manhattan if I can help it!
No I haven’t yet! The Highline was on the list of possibly things to do so sounds like it needs to be a definite. I’m staying a couple of blocks from Bryant Park and will eat pretty much anything!Have you been to the highline? It’s one of my fave spots in the city and I visit every time I go back.
What part of town are you planning to stay in? What kind of food do you like?
it's nice but you don't need more than a day there, I'd maybe do one day/night there and then get the train to Narbonne Plage, which is really coolHas anyone been to Carcassonne? Is it worth going? How long for? And as a solo female?
I stayed in Williamsburg which had a lot of interesting street art. If there are any films or TV series you are interested in then they do the tours which can be really interesting. Oh yes I love walking the high line any time of year and day bc it’s diff vibe with the greenery and flowers as well as light for photos. Smorgasbord looks fab, and Chelsea markets going on the list too!Oh yes I love walking the high line any time of year and day bc it’s diff vibe with the greenery and flowers as well as light for photos. I saw one of the nyc housewives on my last stroll
If you like art, walking around the chelsea galleries are amazing. Most of them free and always changing. Some of the popular ones like David zwirner with yayoi kusama sold out months in advance bc of the artist. Then chelsea market is closeby and there’s great coffee and food there. Like black seed bagels
If you like food festival type things smorgasburg is fun and there’s one at oculus now…don’t have to trek into Brooklyn.Login • Instagram
