It is amazing how much easier it is to cook food when using real oils and you really don’t need to use much.I still have issues around using oils. If I watch a salad dressing recipe and see the olive oil I have panic sweats over the thought. Earlier today I made an egg fried rice with a decent amount of oil rather than my usual stingy offering to the non-stick gods - it tasted so much better! I may have to get over myself with the salad dressings.
I’m assuming by “unofficially” he means he didn’t weigh last week in group but at home showed a larger gain and has lost some over the week hence the “unofficial” loss but overall still a gain. What a red neck even writing that though, starting with the excuses nice and early I seeBy 'unoffically' I take it that he used his home scales which said a loss and the SW ones said gain.
Surely he and his wife can't be implying SW scales are inaccurate...
This reminds me of Charles thefoodieslimmer, who before he disappeared said his gain must have been because of the scales being calibrated differently at the group he weighed in at and his regular group.

I've done so many diets including slimming world several times. I can't bear the groups.
In April I started to try fasting. I do still drink my tea as not giving that up for anything! It's more like one meal a day around 6 pm.
I've been surprised how much easier it is to eat once a day than thinking of food 3 times plus snacks etc.
I work 3-4 days a week & do it those days as I forget about eating when occupied. I still enjoy eating out on occasion. I've found it very freeing and eating exactly what I want is wonderful. Still have lots of veggies & some fruit every day to keep healthy.
I've been surprised how easy it was after the first couple of days.
I've currently lost 13 lbs eating this way. For the first time in my life I feel in control & not scared of food if that makes sense! I thought I'd share in case it would help in some way.
Yes I've never understood why FL @ 1 cal per spray is preferable to Olive oil spray. According to them a TBSP of olive oil is 6 syns (120 cals) and I've estimated 10 sprays is about 20 cals. Mine came about by chance as I was trying to do Ramadan (as a challenge to myself) but I cannot eat late as get acid reflux.
So I changed the timing so I eat around 6 pm. Also I live alone so I'm not tied by other family needs etc,
So now from Mon - Thursday I get up (still have morning tea) and will eat nothing until 6 pm. Then around 800 calories.
I still drink tea and water through the day. For the rest of the week I try to stick to under 1500 cals.
I've been out for meals, burger king, a cream tea on weekends yet my weight has stabilized.
I feel so much better for it. I was surprised how much it suits me and the odd hunger pangs drift away if you just breathe through them.

Thank you that’s sort of what I expected. As has been stated many time on here really no matter what the deficit and balance of foods is key so I’m trying to just be sensible.The thing about Michael Mosley is I personally would be careful to buy into everything he says.
If you want to do it just buy one of his books and you'll probably lose some weight.
I wouldn't buy into his online groups, meal replacements and supplements he sells.
-Despite what he trys to portray he is 100% pure business man.
-He is not a Dr of medicine.
-He qualified as a Dr of psychiatry. But he never practiced and then went straight to working at the BBC as tv producer.
-He then was a tv presenter and eventually went to do the show 'eat, fast and live longer'
-On the show he interviewed lots of people who fasted and the author of 'the longevity diet'
-Micheals stuff is a rip off of the longevity diet. It is not from years of research or his own medical knowledge as he has none. He's as nutritionally qualified as an SW consultant.

I love the approach of just trusting you that’s what I’m going to do and honestly it may be a combination of things I did find useful from plans.I have never read a Michael Mosely book, just aware because of internet headlines etc. Here's my summary just from my personal experience.
1. I feel really good
2. I eat what I want
3. I have lots more energy
4. I'm eating plenty of veg & enough fruit
5. My clothes all fit
6. I'm saving money
7. I'm really happy to be in this condition
Yet someone says oh no you must do something else as this is bad for you & you'll mess up your metabolism! It's falling for dieting all those years ago that messed up my metabolism.
I'm trusting me this time. Not SW, not Michael Mosely, not Fat club, not anyone else. That's all I'm saying on this subject. We all have to find our own answers.
I think the basis of fasting is supposed to force your body to turn to fat stores for energy instead of carbs from the foods you eat during the day. So if you finish eating at 8pm and fast until 1pm (sleep included) then your body should use the carbs first and then turn to fat for energy. I don't know how true this all is it's justwhat I came to.learn when I tried the 16.8 method. During fasting you can only consume no calorie liquids or water (except 1 method suggests EAA supplement especially if training fasted). In the 8 hours you eat your normal meals which should cause you to be in a deficit as you have less time to eat.
This can be a good way for those who snack a lot during the day which would lead to being over your set maintenance calories.
You should still try and eat a sensible deficit during your eating window though and not force yourself to eat to little.
If you want to try it start with a slightly longer eating window and shorted fast and work your way up
But bare in mind it's not everyone's cup of tea (although I learnt I quite like black coffee doing it)
Work out your calories and what your deficit should be and go from there (or if you hate counting calories approach with the 80/20 rule of 80% diet whole natural foods and 20% what ya fancy making sure to listen to your hunger cues)
If evenings are your eating then time is so you finish eating at 8pm then have herbal teas..if you ate enough you shouldn't be hungryokay so i’m going to try this starting with a with a 9-7 window with the hopes of making it more an 8 hour eating window. what do people suggest for not getting hungry in the evenings?
can i still have a cup of tea with a dash of low-fat milk? i can cope with that
Technically no, but I do IF & I still have my morning cuppa & it hasn't affected my losses.
