Sir Keir Starmer #2

I see that Starmer has decided to appoint Mandelson as US ambassador. That appointment is everything that's wrong with UK politics and I don't have the energy to express how disappointed I am in Starmer right now. I actually feel a fool for having thought that for a long while that he was desperately dull and a poor politician, but basically a sound character.

He is so clearly not.
I can't believe the old Prince of Darkness is actually going to be our Ambassador to the USA; He's got such a shady past.

Dianne Abbott nails it (never thought I’d say that!), as she says he has no feel for politics.

Parachuted into a very safe Labour seat, bypassing the selection processes where he would have been exposed as an empty vessel.
He has risen from nowhere & I assume that he is a useful tool (!) for someone somewhere.

Blessed be the toolmakers.
You'd have to be crazy to want to get involved in politics. Especially these days with the UK, France, Germany, Canada, US, S Korea, Australia ect all in a right mess with no easy solutions. Funny that Italy has one of the more stable governments at the moment.

All the signs were there that Keir wouldn't be a great leader.

You'd think he had been in power for 14 years already with all the infighting and discontent.

Has ever a new govt fucked about and found out so much in 6 months - I’ve never seen the honeymoon period be over almost before the election. He doesn’t like the scrutiny that comes with the job does he…

I didn’t think they’d be any good, they are wholly uninspiring and arrogant lot, but they are so much worse than expected. The chancellor’s budget has guaranteed inflation to soar, wages to stagnate and all economic growth to stall. It’s like they had all this time to prepare and they didn’t actually listen to anyone who knows anything and threw some policies together when they won.

They’re not impressed 😂

He was another Trump derangement syndrome weirdo calling Trump the usual racist ✔ nazi✔etc etc etc so it's not surprising.
Not a problem for them though they'd rather suck arse at the crumbling EU 🤪

Calling Trump a racist isn't deranged because that's what he is. However, I'm not sure it's good when front benchers or potential front benchers say it in public, that's just dumb.

That's your opinion though and not fact and not the opinion of millions of Americans who voted for him, many none white voters too.
We have many dumb front benchers who all parrot the same lazy slanderous dialogue in a robotic fashion 🤖

Calling places "shithole countries" and using "thugs" in the way Trump does are, if not quite racist, then very bloody close.
Does it actually matter when - i paraphrase your own words - it isn't actually racist? Dianne Abbott has been explicitly racist against white people in the past, do you remind people of that every time she's mentioned, or is that different?
---
Jack Straw, Labour 2000 - 'The English are potentially very aggressive, very violent' - explicitly racist against the people of this land!!!

Come on, he actively blocked black people from renting apartments, it's there in black and white (no pun intended). :ROFLMAO: He took out a full page ad in the New York Post calling for the so-called Central Park Five to be executed! There are numerous other examples I could cite but I won't as this is a thead for Starmer. For his entire life Trump has spoken like a racist and acted like a racist.

Years ago I used to pop into the shop across from work and buy a paper and chocolate before going into the office. It was owned buy an Indian couple, he was bossy and she wasn’t allowed to speak.
One day she was on her own, and I said to her so tell me where you are from?
She looked horrified/disgusted..
Then I said…you can’t fool me, that’s a Glasgow accent. What brought you down here?
She came round the counter and hugged me. Said she was born here but I was the first person who hadn’t assumed she was from India.
