Sorry I hate to add a post so soon after my previous but I think most people who observe her behaviour would assume she stopped breastfeeding so she could sink as much alcohol as possible and not worry about pumping and dumping. So she absolutely did stop for convenience if she was telling the truth about how EaSy breastfeeding was for her.

Hi Siobhan. Breastfeeding awareness weeks are not to shame new mothers about not breastfeeding- they are to highlight to the general public (especially in Ireland) that breastfeeding is okay to do and it should not be seen as something weird or unsavoury if done in public. Breastfeeding awareness weeks are there to help and encourage new mums who do choose to breastfeed and to make their breastfeeding journey as less stressful as possible. I very much think there is a place in society for Breastfeeding Awareness Weeks as being a new mum is hard enough without the looks and comments from people who are simply not aware of the benefits of it. This is not shaming any new mum for choosing to feed whatever way they want - I think the days of shaming new mums is long gone and that the collective community of new mums know that fed is best! I think your recent story is a bit of an insult to new mums who do choose to breastfeed because BAW are exactly what they need to help them on their journey

Be interesting to see if I'm blocked.....

There’s two things I don’t understand.
One, why was she using bottles and sterilisers if the baby latched no problem? And two, the ‘doing it on my own’ bit. Ned couldn’t breastfeed so what was she expecting?!
She can’t bring herself to say she simply wasn’t arsed any more.
Knowing her understanding of the human body she probably thought he would be able to. Wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to get her mam to feed her as well 🤣

She really needs some attention. Write something that will whip people up (for BF and against)
Her life is falling apart and you can see it more and more everyday. She needs to get off insta and sort out her life and look after her "easy" child. She's not an influencer, she is not a celebrity, she is an alcoholic who needs head pats from strangers and who shifts her child at every opportunity who lives in her mam n dad's boxroom cos her business is shite.

Haha someone told Slob the truth, and guess what she turns full thundercnut
I don't even know where to begin with this.

Absolutely nobody (including the PHN) cares how you feed your child. She is simply doing her job by filling in the form, same as they ask you if your baby is clapping yet etc. The information is used to build statistics for the HSE on breastfeeding rates to try and figure out why a highly educated first world country has one of the worst breastfeeding rates in the world.

Why shouldn't there be a Breastfeeding Awareness Week? Is she speaking on behalf of all the women in Ireland when she says "We are aware" - bold of her. As a self proclaimed nutrionist, I suppose she is aware that from a nutrional stand point breast is best, there's no argument there, it's science. Maybe not everyone is as knowledgeable as you Shiv.

I'm confused on the sterilising comments - that's one of the benefits of breastfeeding is not having to wash and sterilise bottles. Surely she had to do far more of that when she switched to formula.

🤷‍♀️
