It’s seems odd to me that two actresses are playing the same gender identity and/or sexual orientation they have in real life.
Again, I really think the show missed an opportunity to develop a proper story for older women. Further, I think turning Miranda into a fool at times is extremely ageist.

I watched that episode yesterday and noted of all of them Miranda was the most cynical. Carrie as always was self obsessed but the three of them walking away from the bar laughing about Sam's relationship riled me.


Please, please let him have had more sense to be involved in this shower of shite, or maybe he can demand to be cut from the scenes too - couldn't confuse us more than we already are!

The way Miranda mocks Samantha for dating a woman and how you can't just suddenly decide that's what you want?!

Carrie could do with reminding Miranda about that!

The whole of this series reminds of when you watch pilots for new shows. It's not the permanent set as that will change once it becomes more established and they know it will take off (Carries apartment is different in the pilot than the rest of the series) and the characters aren't established so therefore the pilot introduces them slowly and you know nothing about them.

The problem is, its not a pilot and weve had 6 series and 2 films with them yet this comes across like we don't know them or have no idea about their history or the personalities of the characters

It's sad that they reduced a successful woman in her fifties to this, chasing around after an asshole partner, putting them first, throwing away opportunites all so she can call herself a girlfriend. The writers must hate women.

From a quick Google of Sara R who plays Che in all her big roles she seems to have played a gay or non-binary character. In her latest Instagram post she for some reason refers to herself in the third person in language you’d see in a magazine profile of an actress. Bit odd but I imagine not unheard of among famous people.

The reality is that people do come out later in life and that is a potential storyline. Marriages also become dull & people split up. It just hasn’t been done well.

Totally agree, but the plot is a separate issue from some actors seemingly needing to represent their own reality on tv instead of playing characters now.

My police officer friends cringe at police dramas as they say they are nothing like real life, they don’t all go insisting that cops play themselves on tv. It speaks volumes as to the size of their egos that so much of their own personal lives (Sara R and Cynthia) are being enmeshed in this mish mash.

It’s supposed to be entertainment not a serious commentary on life. They are taking themselves waaaaaaaay too seriously.
