Does Carrie always have to be such a bleeping one upper? ‘You say your sex life is dead but BIG IS LITERALLY DEAD’ ‘you may have tit yourself on a date but DID YOU DO IT AFTER YOUR HUSBAND DIED?’ Christ.
Just found this thread so apologies if what I say has been said before… This show makes me sad. I feel like they’re shoehorning as many “woke” issues and diverse characters into the plot as they possibly can, with no regard to the actual storyline or flow. And I don’t feel like they’re doing it for the right reasons - each of those issues and characters (black, brown, transgender, non-binary) just seems like a token gesture.
I really thought the show would have moved gracefully into the modern world but instead it’s an embarrassment.
And Miranda…. Where do I even start? She’s the most horrendous character.
Kind of normal when your husband has just died to be honest.
This episode was less annoying; I like seeing more of Seema and Anthony but the other secondary characters can get in the bin, they’re boring. And Che…just no.
I miss the old Miranda, she was great.
Stress induced hair loss after reading reviews of the showJust revisited the first episode (don’t judge me) and it looks like Miranda isn’t wearing a wig at first. Wonder why they switched.
So Miranda said it was 3 months since she sent Che that text. Which I suppose makes sense then because we saw Carrie have her hip operation and then time passed before she was able to
Wear heels again at the end of that episode and then we saw the seasons change during the opening of this episode so yeah I guess 3 months since Carries op and since Miranda text Che?
I thought that last night, I even googled her old red hair to see where her parting fell years ago. I think it was definitely a wig, certainly not her own hair.Is that a wig she wears for Miranda? I did notice the parting looked odd in the episodes, very unnatural. Now looking at this it looks like she does!
Yeah, I had the same experience. Thankfully I was in my 30s when I came out (still am, so this is all still fairly recent for me), so I'm glad that I had the life experience/confidence to say hell no to all of that. It's just a bunch of men who are mad that women won't have sex with them – a story as old as time really! There are lots of ways to be a woman, but ZERO of them involve having a penis. This nonsense seems to me to be homophobia and men trying to erode women's rights and boundaries dressed up in a new way. Same old nonsense, different day. There was a Twitter thread a while back where young lesbians were describing how they are being pressured to have sexual relationships with people who self identified as women and when they refused were being shouted down as bigots and Terfs. When will people wake up to what's going on under their noses.
Slightly going off topic but this is pretty much all that JK Rowling said and she has been more or less crucified by both press and her HP co stars. She said that she was afraid the term women would be obsolete soon when discussing periods and she's been labelled a transphobic. It's crazy. This nonsense seems to me to be homophobia and men trying to erode women's rights and boundaries dressed up in a new way. Same old nonsense, different day. So that episode was awful, for all the reasons already mentioned. Just some random musings…
They should have kept the narration and themed episodes where everything links. The new format stinks.
The character Che is the absolute worst, in every way
Carrie’s apartment was completely redecorated in the first movie - and has been decorated again since - but she seems to have held on to some of her old furniture from the series? I’m confused. As much as I’d like to pretend the movies didn’t happen, they did.
What they are doing to Steve’s character is awful - but I did consider that he’s going the same way as his mother, Mary? However, that would be an actual link to the original series and I just don’t think the writers are that invested in, or care about the original characters.
I don’t give one flying f**k about any of the side characters.
The only positive thing I can say about that episode is Miranda’s boobs look fabulous.
Rant over.
Love this thread
It is crazy, but the reality is that most people agree with her. No sensible person thinks that a man can become a woman just by saying they 'feel' like one. The reason so many celeb types have come out against JKR (including the brats that owe their entire career to her) is because they're desperate to seem right-on and also terrified of the woke mafia coming after them. You only have to look at the literal rape and death threats JK and other gender critical people receive to see that the whole trans movement* is toxic, dangerous and woman-hating to its core.Slightly going off topic but this is pretty much all that JK Rowling said and she has been more or less crucified by both press and her HP co stars. Sure, but it's also relevant to this thread given the Che/Miranda and Rose storylines.Pretty sure there are several specific threads where you can discuss this issue in depth.

i wonder if they would want to come back if there is a second season, for the producers i doubt they care why people are watching as long as they are, but as an actor it must be tough to read endless criticism of your characterIn summary, Che is one of, if not THE worst character to ever exist in television.
