This is so true / love this! Charlotte could have gone back into the art world once the girls were in school/secondary? Carrie could have started her own little media empire - YouTube, podcast, newsletter?! Similarly Miranda could have established + led a pro bono wing of her firm rather than this blumbering moron tit.

Am I gonna end up a SATC fanfic writer cos of this thread???
All of those ideas are better than what they came up with.

I don’t really understand why people keep saying Charlotte should get a job? She has always made it clear that having a family and being a stay at home mom was her goal and something that she really wanted to do.
She seems the happiest out of them all by miles.

My post wasn’t saying she should get a job, it was re: character development. If they wanted to mix things up a bit “because we can’t stay how we were” a job would be the easiest storyline for Charlotte for the reason you described…

Just watching episode 3. I really liked natasha’s bit, I thought she was so graceful and kind to Carrie, all things considering. The weed thing after the stand up ‘comedy’ gig was so weird and I know it’s legal in parts of America but I just find all the weed chugging thing just not my bag. The stand up comedy bit was so awful i fast forward it. Hate the Che character so much.

Just watching the 3rd ep now…they’re at Che’s Netflix thing…the crowd are clicking instead of clapping which I assume is to not overload the senses of neurodivergent people but I may be wrong…but if that’s why they’re doing it shouldn’t they not be cheering either? Surely that’s worse than clapping for sensory overload??

I think it would have been better if the show had started with Miranda being an established lecturer/professor, seeing her speak about corporate law to her students and then having her make friends with her female collegue, and having a storyline with that rather than Che. Weather they had an affair or just a flirty friendship that awakened her to the problems with her and Steve etc…

Then the Che character could have just stayed in the background, and kept it to the podcast scenes.

As for Samantha, like everyone else has said she would never have treated Carrie like an ATM. I think they could have said she struggled with living alone in new York during lockdown and has gone traveling, or she was expanding her company in to Europe. The day before bigs funeral, she tests positive and can’t travel and miranda reads Sams eulogy for her and it’s throw back to the wedding toast she did.
