I’m sorry if this has been discussed before but I’ve been seeing an influx of sellers recently listing a load of items for a random identical price - say £5.85 (when the item would be worth may more than that). When you look at the listing in more detail - the seller has no feedback and the images have blatantly been copied from elsewhere. Is this a new con? What do they gain? I’d thought it would be quite difficult to get around restrictions of Vinted? Thanks all, very curious!!

I saw something like this today too and I can’t work out the scam either but it doesn’t feel right

I liked a Boden (please don’t ban me) jacket a few weeks ago and still had it favourited. On Tuesday it appeared in my “recommended” under a different user but with the same photo. User had it listed for stupid cheap money but had no reviews. Within an hour, listing and user had gone. Original one is still there.

Lulu stuff is awful for it though. I buy and sell SB but never Lulu. It’s too risky.

This is a common scam, unfortunately. They will be a new seller, no reviews, username will have lots of numbers, all the items will be the same price, popular brands using stolen photos and they only post via Royal Mail.

Royal Mail tracking is not integrated with Vinted, so they automatically assume it has been delivered after a month. They’re hoping you’ll forget to raise an issue within the 48 hour window and the sale will auto-complete, releasing the money to them. They even send a fake postage label/receipt to make you think it’s been sent.

Vinted usually bans these accounts after a day, but banned accounts can still withdraw money so it’s enough time for them to make some sales. Until Vinted integrates Royal Mail, it will just keep on happening 🙁

I got recommended a load of £12 brand new coach bags the other day. All listed under 'gilets and bodywarmers' or something. Hopefully Vinted will make some improvements eventually so these will get properly picked up at listing stage. And as mentioned above, integrate Royal Mail.

Absolutely is a con. Try to report it to vinted and of course they’ve either “removed” (but it’s still there) or it “doesn’t violate”. The trend at the moment is white fox/ Adanola / crocs I’ve found. There will be vulnerable who fall for it especially around Christmas. “White fox” tracksuit with tags for £5.85, ok 😂

I find this so much with Lego, especially rare/retired sets. Selling a set that goes for £300+ for £70 😠

Proper annoys me as I try to list a genuine, trademarked item (keyring of a shoe brand) and it's blocked for selling replicas....

Replica of what?! A shoe for a borrower?! It's a keyring FFS. Tried to appeal but got the same BS back so ebay it is!

I sold a jacket the other day. It’s still in transit so no review as yet. I know I have no stars yet despite being a great buyer - no haggling, paying right away, collecting same day, accepting right away and reviewing right away. Would it kill people to leave buyer feedback 🤯

Despite not selling anything other than my first item, I think I have developed an obsession with Vinted. I upload 3-4 things a day. Most in very good nick, with lots of pics. All washed and ready to go. Cheap and reasonable pricing with decent high street brands.

My wee page looks like a shop with all pics taken in the same place with the same clean and pretty background and I am very proud of my page SO WHY WONT PPL BUY STUFF 😭

I have one for you lovely folks. Item sold of small value, buyer has paid. No feedback/stars on Buyers Vinted. However item was available for pickup for 15 days. Buyer did not pick up and this has now been sent back to me! Never had this before. Might just give it to charity.

Repost or give it to charity, same thing happened to me recently - although she bought two things and was like “oh yeah I will rebuy” they never do 🤣 but someone else has bought one of the things and I’m sure someone will buy the other thing… so either relist or give it away if you want shot if it

Had one earlier offering me for something already well priced! Bog of witch! It’s not an auction site!

I do allow offers if it’s reasonable, been on a while or people buying multiple items!

I wasn’t aware that we needed to put ‘no offers’ on our profile so people know to mind their manners 😜

your "pardon?" response is a lot more polite than she'd get from most 🤣

I’m one of those part time psychopaths, who does sweetness whilst contemplating ripping someone new one 😜

Left it open a while just to see does she reply at all, but she’s blocked now 😜

I did look on her profile and found this review sums it up really.

Hello! I've listed my first thing on vinted and had an offer. The only weird thing is my app keeps switching to French, even though its set on English. Is that a known glitch or just me 🤣
