Has anyone wondered if he had abused Diana? First thing to cross my mind 😔
He wouldn’t have dared. She was more on a level with him, as in power. She had too much influence. It would seem his MO was to pick on the young shop assistants because who would believe them? Especially around the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. They would have been crucified in the Press for being gold diggers and just wanting to sell their stories for their five minutes of fame. I never could stand the slimy twit. This is going to turn out to be another Savile I reckon. Everyone turned a blind eye because he was so powerful. Makes my piss boil. 😡

Just watching this news conference about Mohamed Al Fyed..

Imagine going for a job in a shop and having to have a smear test and sexual health screen..

He made out the medical tests were because Dodi had a weakened immune system so didn’t want to catch an infection. Funny how the customers, who Dodi might come into contact with too, didn’t have to go through a medical before they were allowed to shop there

Also the results went straight to Al Fayed before the staff/potential staff knew the results themselves. They were done so he knew they were ‘clean’ for his own gratification

What a vile man

It is tragic that people cannot speak up whilst the abuser is alive.

As with Saville this seems all too late. Let them get away with this heinous behaviour all their lives, then it all comes ravelling out after their death. Al Fayed didn't care what he inflicted on women, probably expected it to be uncovered after he died, did he care, not at all.

That'll be why he never got the recognition from the "upper echelons of society" then or the British passport he wanted. Hateful wanker.

The British passport thing was going on for years and years. There were reasons why his applications over the years were always rejected. Knew it would be some murky goings on, that 'some' people knew about, too afraid to speak up.

It could not have been merely financial, we know how people with power behave, but THIS, it is the most depraved of crimes. Denying him a British passport, think we all knew it was so deep-seated and apalling, so why didn't the authorities act on the information?

I once interviewed (and hired) a girl for a role who had worked at Harrods and with him.

When she joined she opened up a lot more freely as to why she left there. She had started working in the Beauty Hall and he had spotted her and insisted she move from there and come alongside and work upstairs with his team of Assistants.

She said he was an absolute letch and that people turned a blind eye to it as he was the Boss. She could not stand it any longer and hence why she left. She was (and sure she still is!) absolutely beautiful - blonde haired, blue eyed - which was apparently his type.

Didn’t stop Dodi shuvelling coke up his nose every day either

The only thing now is hopefully those who covered up for him get punished 😔

I sat next to someone at work in the 90s who had previously worked for Al Fayed at Harrods. She was blonde and beautiful but didn’t say anything bad about him. I got the impression she quite admired him.

But, yeah, I believe the stories coming out now.
I know someone who worked there - fitted the blonde and beautiful mould, thought the sexual health checks were a bit odd (although it was presented as 'this is how much he cares for his staff'), but was told that Al Fayed was a perv and was warned to stay under the radar when he came round the store as it could mean she'd be moved to his personal team (which also meant abruptly "leaving" the organisation after a while...). The woman I knew was sacked for a fatuous reason after she got married (coincidence? Clearly not).

In abusive situations, everyone is groomed but only a few individuals are targeted for abuse.

I'm digging in the recesses of my brain here, but all this Diddy stuff reminds me of an Blind article about Prince and his vault of personal video tapes, recorded during similarly dodgy parties. I'll try and find it but if anyone else remembers, can you fill us in?
That's news to me. Some quotes from an ex of Prince's (Susannah Melvoin) in a recent article about a Netflix documentary on Prince that's been held up suggest that Prince was far from a wild freak sexually, describing him as "very controlled, very shut down", so I can't see him holding such dodgy parties.

To think he used to call Prince Phillip every name under the sun, but he saw the dirty old bleep for what he was. And yes I know Phil was allegedly a bit of a shagger himself in his time but I’ve never heard anything to suggest he was pervert.

Didn't Jimmy SaVile say on Parkinson, he took a young girl in the boot of his car to see Prince Phillip at BP,

JS goes on to say, if the girl is watching this show right now, I'm sure she'll remember that night.
