We're talking about a "politician" who revels in coming out with goading divisive rhetoric. And it doesn't matter how much people tell him that he's antagonistic, he keeps on coming out with the same shite. I've mentioned before about a mate of mine who works around Tufton Street and will often see Farage in the street, with someone calling him a wanker occasionally. Nigel's reaction is a smirk - he seems to love being hated, though of course there seem to be enough people in this country who love him.
I get all that. Farage is ghastly. But my opinion is throwing liquids at anyone, for doing their job (which is what he is doing) is just a slippery slope to much worse things. Farage is a horrendous bollox - we all know that - but he isn't really the point of this imo. I don't think anyone should be assaulted.

Of course. But does that make the reactions OK? Is every provocative person allowed to be assaulted?
There’s just something about it that I find a bit off. Like it is ok to throw stuff at him because he is a wanker. But if someone throws stuff at someone we agree with would we be happy? I’m in NI so politicians have had worse than milkshakes thrown at them but I just don’t like it. Win the argument through debate and expose him or just don’t do it.

She always came across as extremely ignorant. A lack of intelligance or knowledge often isn't someone's fault, and both can be improved, but ignorance is usually wilful. Ignorant people often don't grow ime.
I could be wrong but think it was once mentioned that she may have had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome? (Also think there may be a new term for it nowadays)

The strictly/ giovanni drama is rumbling on with a male dancer now said to have received therapy after working alongside gio. Just hopped on wiki and gio joined in 2015. Only male dancers that worked alongside him as far as I can tell would be:
Brendan Cole-
Anton Du Beke
Pasha Kovalev
Kevin Clifton
Aljaz
Tristan McManus who apparently quit the show…
Gleb Savchenko who did one series then left in 2016 but I think he left to do dancing with the stars
Gorka
AJ Pritchard
Graziano Di Prima
Neil
Johannes
Nikita
Kai Widdington
Carlos Gu
Vito Coppola.

My money is on Tristan. Apparently he said this:

“I think the show needs someone a lot different to me on the show to get what they want, and I need something a lot different to make me happy and get what I want out of it. "I think there will be a lot of changes on the show, and I have enjoyed it for the most part but right now I just need a break from it all."

I didn’t watch strictly when Tristan was on - just googled him gorgeous and Irish ☘️

Do we know it’s a professional dancer rather than a celebrity? That would leave Richie Anderson as the only male celebrity he’s been partnered with

I think some are rewriting history when it comes to Jade. She was awful in BB3´and bullied Sophie. She had a terrible upbringing, but so do lots of other people. I do feel that her behaviour stemmed from jealousy caused by low self esteem, as well as ignorance and lack of education. That said, the way the tabloids whipped up the viewers while she was in the house and when she came out was terrible too; horribly misogynistic and class-based prejudice.

You misunderstand me if you think that’s what I was trying to say. She did and said some very unpleasant things BUT I don’t think there was no chance of her maturing and regretting them. We’ll never know. The bullying was probably a far more ingrained behaviour than the racist comments, which felt very much like something she could learn from. She had gone on Indian Big Brother when the cancer was diagnosed.

Politicians having had tit thrown at them has being going on for years without all this pearl clutching. Eggs, powder etc. I don't agree with it especially but it's interesting who gets the 'it could be acid' outrage while death threats against other politicians are ignored.

Not a pop at anyone posting here, more a comment on our media and who and what it amplifies.

I worry that throwing milkshakes at Farage inspires some of the deeply unpleasant people who follow him to ‘revenge’. Politicians have always had an element of public order risk that can’t really be mitigated without shutting them away from people, but this current political climate feels very tense and we know that people can act in far more dangerous ways.

I was appalled at Strictly manipulating a dance for Bobby about Jade. He had simply loved the song, but Strictly made it into some emotional losing mother (cringey)dance..

(He didn't react how they expected him to ie sobbing breakdown)

I felt uncomfortable with that too.

He had his irritating moments but generally was quite refreshing on Strictly, it wasn’t the be all and end all to him and he never seemed like he’d break down if he went out.

When everyone was making a bit deal about Amanda withdrawing he just shrugged his shoulders and said ‘I think it’s great that she has done what she wants.’

It might not be one of the ‘main‘ pros: Strictly uses extra pro dancers to pad out some of the group dances, and external pros are brought in to help out with choreography (e.g. Arduino, Jake). There was also Cameron, who was cast as a ‘main’ pro but then never had a celebrity partner.

My gut feeling is that, if true, this is a case of punching down at someone viewed as ‘lesser’ or ‘expendable’, rather than one of the main, better-known pros.

I don't know why producers still drag out the sob story thing. It's so unpopular. I don't mind things being touched on once but then leave it. we're not stupid.

I wonder whether Giovanni hasn't really done much except shag and dump the woman who puts together the Daily Mail's sidebar of shame so she's hell bent on turning nothing into something.

Nobody on this thread, but I'm absolutely certain some of the ones loving the Farage thing on twitter would scream bloody murder if the same thing was done to some politician they like.

I don't like any of them for the most part, but I don't advocate violence against them.

I can't seem to find any details about what Giovanni is supposed to have actually done? Just been a bit of a dick? That hardly singles him out in TV land, and especially not in reality TV.

From what I can gather he’s a perfectionist and he makes the celebrities do the routine again if they get it wrong, repeatedly. Basically he’s a strict teacher not a cuddly one and some of the celebrities just want to go on there to have a bit of glitz and fun, not be the worlds best dancer. I think it’s just a clash of expectations around the experience.

For all the gushing they all do when they leave about being friends for life etc how many of them actually stay friends out of the 200 odd celebrities who have done it?
