I’m on week 10 and got sulphur burps for the first time! Can anyone remind me what causes them and how to tackle them?
Overeating, eating fried/fatty foods, eating too quickly, even certain vegetables can cause the sulfur burps (eg broccoli, garlic, mushrooms). Cruciferous vegetables tend to ferment in the gut and on MJ there’s already slowed digestion.

They’re horrible. I’ve heard people swear by gaviscon and omeprazole but the only thing that relieves them instantly for me is Pepto Bismol (unavailable in the UK). I always keep a few bottles around just in case, although it can be pricey as it’s shipped in from the States.

So I've got about half a dose of 50mg left in needle, can I take that plus my first dose of 7.5mg on same say or will that be bad for me? 😂
Yeah I wouldn’t suggest you do that, you could become really ill 😬

I’m sure someone else done similar before on here and they were unwell as a result.

Thank you! I had a curry last night including onion bhaji, plus I am veggie so it was full of high sulphur foods like broccoli and cauliflower! Plus all the garlic in it, it sounds like I gave myself the perfect recipe for eggy burps! Lesson learnt, I won’t be doing that again!

My sis lives in the states and is visiting in the new year so I shall ask her to bring me over some pepto bismol in case they ever reoccur (I’m sure this used to be in the UK back in the day?)

You can get it in the UK. I have two patients on it at the moment.

I’ve made that mistake myself! It’s easy done 😂

It used to be available here but I think stock issues since around Covid time made it impossible to get. My local chemist used to supply it but never has any now.

I haven’t seen any for so long in the pharmacy. I’ll need to have a look around for it as it’s been a lifesaver

Not taking a break as such however I have 2 doses left I think - last dose in or around the 16th December, then I go on holiday 3rd January so I'm just waiting until I'm home from holiday before ordering my next pen. I'm currently on 5mg... might stay on 5mg when I get back from holiday as I will have been off it for a few weeks.
If it’s over 2 weeks since your last injection, I think you are meant to go back to 2.5mg for 4 weeks, so that might be worth considering with timings. Or checking with your provider what their guidance is.

Thank you, good to know. il check that out before i go to order my next dose.

Week 9, Golden dose actually successfully taken this month (using a separate syringe as breaking the pen last month did not work) 23lb lost now. up to 7.5 next week.

still really lucky side effects wise, with just constipation and a weird dry mouth. making sure I eat my calories even if I don't want to and drinking water like its going out of fashion! will see what the 7.5 brings in terms of side effects.

my mini goal to reach 12 stone something before xmas looks likely now - currently 13 stone 1.....

Hubby 2lb off 2 stone loss he is on week 10 as his 1st pen golden dose worked.

My training is going from strength to strength, ran 8 miles Sunday, longest since my marathon in May and it felt super strong.

Hey all just looking for some advice. Have been in MJ for about 4 months, I’ve lost over 3 stone. Was on 7.5mg for a while and it was working so well, then suddenly my appetite came back and I stopped losing weight for a few weeks. So I upped my dosage to 10mg and it still hasn’t curbed my appetite like it was before!? I thought going up a dose would really help. I’d say my appetite is a bit more reduced but do I go up to 12.5mg next time or just wait and see what happens?

Weigh/jab day today and I’m another 3.5lb down! 3stone 1lb lost since starting in September now!
I’m not stopping for Christmas but I have ordered another 5mg pen and will be staying on that as I’ve a lot less suppression and can eat/fancy more and have tested a few alcoholic drinks and gotten on ok but am eating less than I would if not on it. So I figure it’s a happy medium 😂😂

I've drank fizzy drinks throughout my journey so far. I'm a big of a Pepsi Max/Lucozade Zero addict so I haven't gave them up but maybe my stomach is built different due to the addiction, haha.
I cut them out years ago and switched to very weak squash (I can't stand plain water), so I'm a bit worried it will mess my pipes up...
