Don’t know about your story, but this might be connected with Sammi‘s absent (black) dad and the lack of connection with her family on her dad‘s side.
 
I haven't noticed a change in the way she speaks but I don't pay enough attention to her recent content to pick up on it. It's funny though, most people go the other way the more we interact in a diverse, professional world, the less slang and "street" we speak because people either won't understand us or won't take us seriously.

There have been many versions of Sammi though, all depending on who's she's around the most (usually her partners) so I guess this is the latest edition of her lol.

I had an absent father as well but maybe I'm lucky as my mother never outwardly made an issue of it and she encouraged us to be ourselves first and not pander to some vague idea of what being balconies or white is. Its a shame for Sammi but the insecurity is sp obvious

Yep. I'm mixed too and it saddens me how many fully grown mixed people still feel like they have to somehow 'pick a side'. Guess what? You get to be both! And - just like everybody else - you get to be a unique and complex individual with a variety of cultural experiences and references.

I went through the phase of feeling like I had to prove myself growing up, and life became notably better when I realised I didn't have to be anyone but myself. And as someone who is pretty engaged with racial-political discourse, I still don't feel the need to prove my 'blackness'.

I disagree. I’m also mixed, nearly 30, and I have always been quite insecure about who I was and where I fit in culturally. It has its reasons. As others have said it might have something to do with her absent father, but we’re just guessing here. I have a problem with calling her more black… she is black, and white. My view is that she’s added more into her life over the years that is fundamentally hers. And that’s lovely.

Honestly, it’s possible she said that herself even, that it is because of absent father. Not sure if it was her or Grace Victory though.

Yeah I’m sure she did. She’s had this stage later than most of us mixed people and I think it’s good to see her embrace it. Her voice is a bit cringe and put on though lol but I loved how much she advocated for BLM compared to other influencers and I think this was the start of her coming out her shell/ blossoming

I found this video really surface-level. And like she just put it out for the sake of it. I don't think YouTube is her passion.

Things that got on my nerves:
Her saying "I just love getting to know people and how their brain works. Is that weird?!" Of course it's not weird, why does she make a big deal out of everything?
And her constant giggles and stumbling over her words then saying "bleugh!" Is still annoying to me. Sorry, I sound like a right witch.
I definitely think that black guy she dated used her for her sponsored holiday. I think they stopped dating shortly after that. Some guys are excited with dating an influencer and the perks that get. Although, they may have stopped talking for any reason, so I'm just assuming.

She seems to be stuck in the mindset of being in her late teens/early twenties. I know she has a kid but if the majority of her interactions with people are on social media then that’s all she’s getting. I think getting a ‘real’ job would benefit her

I quit the video after 2 minutes. A bit strange of her to say that it’s unattractive behaviour when a person doesn’t want to talk or be in relationship with her because of children. That’s a very valid reason to me.

No, she meant ghosting is unattractive behaviour. It's fine if someone doesn't want someone with kids but she said ghosting them is rude. Tbh, I wouldn't call it ghosting with someone she doesn't know. They said 2 words to eachother on Bumble, then he unmatched her. Nothing to rant about IMO.

Also, I just remembered she said she got banned on Bumble! How odd! How does anyone get banned, unless you did something bad I don't get it? She didn't say the reason but she must know, because most services would give you a warning or say why you've been banned.

Yeah I got that. Just seemed like she was kinda upset it happend after he found out she’s a mum and that isn’t okay. I feel the same, shouldn’t be an issue haha

Ok, but if that makes her feel upset then she should just say that. She's not the only person in the world that would feel hurt by people not wanting to date mums. She's not really honest with viewers and puts on a front. Her acting like nothing bothers her actually makes her look very bothered lol.

I kind of took it to mean that as a mother, not wanting to be with someone who has kids is unattractive to her. Like it was an instant turn off for her; I’d be concerned for her sanity if she still found someone attractive after they ghosted her for being a parent! Nor do I expect anyone with kids to find me to be an attractive partner because I have no desire to be around kids right now, so makes sense 🤣
