Yeah that's the bit I don't get. I don't know how it works but I'm assuming she's either a court ordered guardian or Sal chose her. Either way someone thinks she's a suitable enough mother. Or at the very least better than Sal, which is quite a low bar tbh.
 
Social Services will do everything they can to keep the children within the family and yes the bar is quite low.

At this point, what, 2 days before you’re supposed to be flying the child out to Portugal? you’d be saying to Sal “There’s no hotel booked? Ok, I can’t take the chance that we get there and there is no accommodation sorted, it’s too late now, so I’m cancelling and planning some nice stuff for the girls to do here at home for the rest of half term”.

This is something I’m happy to be corrected on and I suppose circumstances are down to the individual etc but I’ve never understood grandparents being given custody (generally not just Sallie) like... they obviously didn’t do a great job first time round.

She forgets her lies, one minute she had a terrible childhood, was left to rot as a baby by her family, in care from year 11...........now she has an amazing family & her mum is fantastic support which enables her to swan off to Mexico and leave her kids (missing contact!). She’s the biggest lying fantasist I’ve EVER seen. Wonder how her mum feels seeing this stuff?

Social Care always ask the family first -as long as there’s no risk to the child, obviously. It then depends on what happens from there whether they stay or not. Sometimes it’s only a temporary thing until long term foster care can be found, sometimes the grandparents mean well but can’t manage so they end up with a foster family, every situation is different. If they’re on a SGO with her mum though, she won’t be getting extra money for them or anything, just the usual benefits she’d get if she was their mum.
 
Sal clearly has MH issues and they may or may not be down to her parents. If she went off the rails as a teenager this might be down to untreated MH and also she is unruly, thinks she’s a rebel. Sounds like her mother enables her but also has stuck around to try to protect her grandchildren. It’s hard to judge her mum when Sal is a compulsive lying fantasist. Just in the past year of following her she has made up so much tit. Imagine being her mother it must be a lot of hard work and scary. Her mum must be stable enough to have the kids and assessed as being suitable for them. This might be a lot harder once they are teens and Sal is impressing on them to live a free rebel off grid lifestyle, making her mums job even harder!
 
Why the duck would her mother get on a plane and take the little one to Portugal for a few days ... just to meet up with Sal ... and watch her on a bleeping come down the whole time ?? Lisa wants a bleeping slap across the face !!! No hotel booked !! Wow !! Sal is the most selfish witch ever and her stupid mother is no better !!!

I caught only the first minute of one of her lives last night before the cringe got to me and had to turn off, but she did say hi to her mam who she said was watching. So yeah, I completely agree with you, terrible enabling behaviour from her. If she was my child I'd be ringing screaming while she's on the live "if you have time to chat shite you can book my bleeping hotel room!!". But nothing from her.

We all know she’s got no plans of taking the kids to Portugal. And even if she wanted to all the rooms are booked up. I know this from watching Adam Frisbys Instagram. He really struggled to get a room and had to stay in 2 different hotels for his first 2 nights and then find another. But that will be her excuse ‘we couldn’t go cos couldn’t get a hotel room’
 
I struggle to feel sorry for her mum, I know mine would wipe the floor with me if I behaved in such a way, I would get well and truly told to get my arse home, get a job and start to grow up and take resposibility.......Sally is permanently chasing fame, and I feel like her mum enables her because she thinks she will get it...I don't think she has ever gone after a "normal" job has she? ......afaik the girls do go to an independent school but it's not a fee paying one.
