That BB IGTV clip was a great way of showcasing how poor her technique is. KJH manages to teach you new and interesting ways of using brushes with concealer to even tone and uses lovely descriptions e.g. if you want to see the skin, use the lightest touch as though you're stroking a flower petal. Sali's beating of her face with that buffing brush, "I'm using the same force as though I'm punching someone in the shitmouth"

She gave the politest teeth-clenching, "I've heard good things" about LE's lipstick collection. It must really grate to be continually asked about it

KJH's beautiful, different method and skill is so engaging. And her desire to chat, encourage and find out what people want to know is delivered in the nicest way. She's boss. Plus she can be silly, make errors, experiment and it go a bit wrong. There's no ego or loftyness there. I stan.

That Moran photo!

You can really hear it when she is hitting her foundation into her face with her fingers in that latest ‘can’t live without’ BB video. The way she buffs in would mess up any SPF surely? (One derm said they recommend a beautyblender to not mess up the suncream layer)

May be too awkward for Sali to mention the Prince Andrew / Epstein saga given how she so often referred to her teenage self as ‘jailbait’.

I read her current article on perfume (this months vogue). She rechurned out the husband meeting over Philosykos and how impressed she was that he knew the scent had been designed by a woman… really he knew that off the top of his head?
She went on to celebrate female perfumers who weren’t from Grasse (part of France famous for perfumery, and for perfume training) and how we shouldn’t give so much weight to ‘noses’ from Grasse. However in her Beauty Pie [ad?] for their fragrance launch she highlighted that the (male) perfumer who designed the scents was from Grasse (in a way to give credibility to the perfumes from the new brand). The problem isn’t the perfumery industry, the problem is people like Sali who reinforce the industry biases when it suits them.

What's wrong with being classically trained in Grasse? Most people are led by their nose and like what they like, regardless of the gender of the nose or where they were trained, not everyone is led by silly rules as Sali is. As usual SH talks to people like they're clueless idiots

Francis Kurkdjian is my favourite perfumer, he has his own range, Maison Francis Kurkdijian, and he has created many successful perfumes for other houses. I am addicted to his APOM Pour Femme, it's heaven on earth to me.

Is it more citrusy than woody?

Thank you to the people who answered my CM/fanfic question. I now understand better.

What jumps out from the fanfic thing for me is that it was hugely unprofessional/inappropriate for Moran to ask/force the actors to read sexual content. If the gender of both the interviewer and interviewees is reversed it perhaps becomes clearer that this is not on.

A commenter above mentions her apologising... Was this in relation to the J-Law pics or has she apologised for this?

I could forgive her if she had (properly) apologised, but the wider issue seems to be that people just find her annoying. Which is I guess subjective and is less of an issue for me that the lack of integrity etc that SH demonstrates. Although I agree that she seems to sometimes show poor judgement.

She apologised for her Pistorius joke and admitted her instincts were wrong re the J Law photos. It's in the link in my post re this (paywalled but mentioned in bit that's visible). If she apologised re the fanfic thing I am not aware of it.

She apologised on stage at the time to Cumberbatch and Freeman. Found thus video via Twitter.

I have read bit (read: a LOT) of fanfic (not Sherlock) and so much of what I have read is better written, better researched, and far more sensitive in terms of racism/misogyny/queer representation than the kind of offensive tit that fuckers like Moran put out. How dare she publicly ridicule a writer for something that was written for her own amusement and that of her friends within the same fandom.

What a bleeping witch. She reminds me of Lena Dunham (who she adores) who constantly sticks her foot in it and then has to apologise. These people seem to think that they can keep apologising and we will forgive them.
