I think it was the men on leads in Brighton station (turns out it was Pride weekend but still..) I was sure that was 2023 or 2022 at longest?

That jars when she is not entirely honest and behaves badly - stalking people on socials, making threats to contact employers etc - don’t forget the local man working for the wine merchant was only in the last year or so, not to mention tracking down people here and sending them emails telling them they’re mental. Things from her past get dragged up because it seems more like a pattern of behaviour from Sali, than a one-off.
She may not be a core Guardian writer, attending meetings with the editor and sitting in the Central London office however to the average person she has clout, she has standing, there’s a power imbalance when she threatens you, your employment, your privacy. Whether she acknowledges it or not.

Also of note she “interviewed” Kate Hayes, legendary MUA who was also being relentlessly trolled. An insider on those threads said that Kate and her management were hyping/sending the troll messages for engagement. Kate also lost a contract when her old racist and homophobic tweets from 2012 we uncovered.

I don't disagree. She has not been honest and has behaved badly - that's sort of why we're here. I think she's combative by nature and will attack when she feels threatened (and does quite easily feel threatened) but she no longer makes the sort of gratuitous mean comment that she used to on Twitter.

I always thought that Katie Hayes was an unfortunate alliance.

Even light research should have shown that Kate Hayes wasn’t a great pick. Although I guess she was keen, where maybe others weren’t.
 
I was looking for something else but found this - from 1999. Has anyone consulted Pete Paphides if five years after Freaky Friday we are safe to leave the bunkers yet? Tbh I'm running a bit short on essential supplies.

yes I for one am still in a bunker since 2019, terrified that the “relevant authorities“ whoever they are, will be pursuing me for <checks notes> defaming Sali. She’s so binary about everything isn’t she? Someone has a different opinion to her and so is therefore no longer considered “good people”. And she’s perfectly happy to dox him. No nuance, no curiosity about his views or reflection about her own. No consideration of him as a person, his business etc etc. Just like a switch has been flicked and he’s now the worst of the worst.

i know we’ve wondered this before but I really wouldn’t be surprised if she was neurodiverse. I say this with no shade - I’ve got ADHD and this splitting/polarised thinking is v familiar to me

And he was right of course, because giving someone no choice but to look at you as you become sexually aroused from performing your fetish is actually abusive. That's why flashing and unsolicited dick pics are illegal - same principle.

Sali's view dates from nineties lad mag culture where the boys did their sexist/macho/whatever thing, and the girls stood by giggling regardless of how uncomfortable it made them, as to object was to show yourself as uptight and boringly conservative.

Nowadays most people have a better understanding of consent, and everyone's right to consent or not, and take a dim view of coerced/forced consent.

She actually did say she had files of screenshots and printouts 😂 I think she said all given to her as she has never looked here herself :rolleyes:
One of the reasons being she was convinced masses of the worst comments here were deleted so she needed a physical copy of the horror.

Temporary derail:

Anybody who has recently received the October box from Liberty Beauty Drop, could you tell me whether the perfume included has a spray top? I don't know whether mine is faulty. The lid comes off and there's nothing at all there, no dropper/spray 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve got it and same issue here. There’s a plastic stick thing attached to the lid on mine which I used to apply. Not a great design but I do like the scent!

Same! Very underwhelming. On another note I just bought the lotions and potions founders edit with my beauty drop credit. Really good set, everything is lovely, and exactly the kind of thing id like in the beauty box (in mini form obvs). Right now the beauty box just feels like the kind of crap you used to get free in a magazine…
