She mentioned her hormone expert a few years ago on her first podcast. She felt funny or something and saw an expert in Harley Street (I think). I remember thinking at the time it was probably perimenopause but she denied it.

(Dan's folks lived in Newcastle. No idea if he grew up there or if they moved there later).

No you're right. He's from Newcastle. I was surprised at his accent when I watched a bit of his Francus Galtin talk on YouTube. I think he was in a Baddiel Syndrome episode where he does a Geordie accent.

I think that the people in her life may be telling her how great it looks. Just as with her hair. She's said before that all her friends love her 'grey' hair, that it's only strangers online who have been negative about it. I get the feeling that she's surrounded by people who will always affirm her choices, even when a different opinion might serve her better.
