Cerutti 1881 for me. I thought I was very grown up. In reality it was just half price in the Boots Christmas sale and then became my “signature scent” for sixth form.
I was also partial to the green apple (was it DKNY?)

Body Shop Tea Rose. It was absolutely gorgeous, smelled like a fresh rose, not like toilet air freshener as so many rose scents can, even pricey ones . I wish they still made it. I got some about 15 years ago on eBay and won't wear it because I want to smell it forever 9por as long as I can). It's still good.

Science-backed ingredients and skincare procedures is a safe space to default back to. It’s annoying that often a regular woman has to become a bit of a nerd to sieve through the rubbish spewed out at customers, influencers at the forefront of this! As a middle-aged woman I want look good for my age, not younger. Having realistic expectations around ageing and what could be achieved through consistently good skincare routine/ treatments is key. I’m still to see one of those influencers like SH who with all the money and free treatments thrown at them, look anything by ‘done’.

Can highly recommend Jessica DeFino. She has a (paid) Substack but you should be able to find some free content of hers online to give you an idea (podcasts, articles, interviews.) She breaks down the bullshit marketing around beauty and wellness. Sorry if you’ve already heard of her!

I can't get over this picture.

Observations:
1. If Sali considers Nic Chapman a friend, she definitely, definitely isn't.
2. My god, poor posture is aging.
3. Ditto not smiling.
4. Skin colour, hair colour, lipstick colour and black clothing and glasses are not working together here, and the effect is to make each one look worse.
5. Not sure if she's mid chew or just trying to hold her lips closed. If the latter, those teef need sorting pronto as they are making her jowly.
6. She may love the colour, but her hair looks so lank and lifeless.
7. Never, ever sit next to a model, even when they're retired...
