I hope it does, it's the new modern version of a Herbalife scheme. Even that Tommy Knight pervert is a coach now it seems

Just to come from the other side here, does anyone think there’s space for an honest, reasonable priced online coaching service? With the amount of Charlatans out there who are still attracting well paying clients whilst providing a low quality service there must be a demand for online coaching..

Of course, but they would need to not be a dickhead like these lot are and the charge per person would be significantly lower. A coach at my run club has represented Australia and he coaches twice per week at the club for anyone, runs a clinic for free Saturday's to take questions or offer some advice and for personal coaching her charges £35 per month and £15 for students. Does personal plans, you can contact him at any time and he's really a really nice person who doesn't use social media for his stuff. It just works

I’m gonna go one step further and say what is the point of pulling out of a marathon at mile 21.5 unless you’re injured, especially if your “slow” pace or walking those last 4.5 miles would still bring you in under 3:30? What a waste of everyone’s time!
Yeah I thought this too. His ego wouldn’t let him finish with a “slow” time. I’d have more respect if he had decided to jog or walk it in.

I totally get being in the hole at mile 20 but once you get past 22 you can convince yourself that you can make it home (especially if you’re not running your first marathon!). Just smacks of a tantrum that it wasn’t going his way to me.

Or maybe he did it on purpose so he can drum up some engagement through a dramatic click bait YouTube title about “pulling out of a marathon at mile 21” like he did for UTMB.

He sounds like a saint! But on the whole £35 only really covers 1-2 hours of his time, and what he is offering sounds like it would take a lot longer than that, therefore people like this simply won’t exist as online coaches unfortunately.

I just think so much online coaching cheap or otherwise can easily be replicated with runners world plans, or if you are a bit more experienced and hold up to harder higher milage, the AW marathon plans are good too
The cheap copy and paste plans (such as what Bester is alleged to be sending) are the same as runners world or from reading a running book. The difference is they don’t provide feedback to athletes, which is the costly part of online coaching.

I see Anya is now sponsored by UA, will she still be as fast without her Nike supershoes?
Is this instead of Saysky or as well as? I've heard terrible things about their gear, I've had few clothing bits in the past and found sizing super generous, XS will probably swap Anya!

Say sky unisex is massive (swamps me) but the women’s is good fit. I’ve got some t shirts and shorts and actually really like them - no chafe or dodgy seams and good on the sweat front. I don’t think she’s associated with saysky any more…

Welshtits is also in the UA team too. Can’t believe for one second he will run London in UA rather than Nike?!?!

I used to quite like bester. I found him essentially jogging round however many marathons in 2:40 impressive but the coaching scam is awful and I wonder how long until it really catches up with him

I also think the internet coaching bubble will burst soon enough. I think it’s really short lived. Everyone wants to be with the current coolest kid on the block, which won’t be them forever

Most people don't need coaches, they need a plan and the motivation to stick to it. Some people get that from having a coach they can tag/who will like/repost them etc. But most people can find that in an app or the improvement curve that comes from sticking to a training plan. So many remote coaches are barely a step up from an app.
