So many wannabe influencers (plz just don’t, give up kids, it’s not cool) continuing to tag asics and brooks so they can be on the teeeeeeeam.

Who else has been at it? I’ve avoided IG all day today since the first thing I saw was Kelloggs on a runderwear ad

Thomas Dunning. Yes. I think he’s more concerned with self-promotion and being ‘seen’ to help others than actually fomenting real positive, substantial change in the MH arena. The message he spreads is disingenuous at best, and actually harmful to those with serious mental illness at worst. Author, TED talks, etc - good on him for speaking his truth and coming out the other side of a horrible episode, but I don’t like the preaching, sanctimonious virtue signalling stuff he spouts. And the incessant hyping up of what a good guy he thinks is.

He visited local suicide spots during lockdown and took selfies of himself putting motivational stuff / phone numbers on barriers, railings etc then posted the pictures to the local city Facebook groups, expecting lots of kudos and adulation for how selfless and amazing he is. Admirable intentions perhaps, but completely unnecessary to publicise his efforts on multiple pages on social media to receive a pat on the head from strangers he doesn’t know. Instead, I thought it was *very* inappropriate, and even dangerous, for him to be visually pointing out on a public platform where the best places to kill yourself locally were… and asking for recommendations of where else he could go! I mean, if you had suicidal ideation then his post might as well have been a “how to” guide!


Don’t even get me started on his attempt at ‘surthriving’ as a neologism

I saw Charlie begs next and that alibeister (?) bloke both promising big discount codes for Thera gun. Both making out like they had some fab exclusive deal. No hint of ad or aff link signposting from either of them. I don't even follow them, just dipped in to see what you lot were on about
The kellogs ad for handcream, do people really put cream on immediately before popping a pair of gloves on? I can't put any kind of cream on before a run as it won't have sunk in properly and just sweat off. Thankfully WR has blocked me so I can't see his version of the slimy skin ads.

The blatant lies he spouts for content are quite disturbing. Apparently his pride flag keeps getting destroyed so he covered his whole house in pride colours, his neighbour also supports Trump and put a Trump flag outside their house...in what looks to be rural England? I feel sorry for his Dad that he keeps roping into these charades as well. It's really telling he closes the comments on his posts because I think a lot of people would call him out on his bullshit. Don't get me started on the reel about his mother's death followed up by him topless and baby oiled up talking about homophobia.

He's a Dad, I feel so sorry his children being raised by someone who's a compulsive liar and dedicates his time to perpetuating those lies further. Would love to know if anyone knows him or his sister IRL.

The echelon “ambassadors” are all truly awful at declaring. It makes me think echelon have told them not to declare.
There’s another one who is an “ambassador” for echelon (smaller following than most) @ itsanniebean and she is AWFUL at declaring all her ADs. But then again she’s good friends with runnerbeans so she’s learnt from one of the shadiest eh?!

She hash tags it in almost every post!! Drives me nuts. She got injured and deferred 4 years ago. Then pulled out a month before whilst 20 some weeks pregnant, and has never run it. So stop using the hashtag in hopes of getting new followers

I did that course to help out my local run group - basic common sense at best (pun intended) so looking forward to making my fortune in coaching now. Just shows what he is getting away with!

Anna does her long run at 8:38/mile pace and sprints the last mile to get it over with. But she doesn't have goals for Portsmouth Coastal guys! She's totally running just for fun! I'm predicting an oopsie 3:25-35 now.

And if she enjoys running so much, why post about not wanting the long run hanging over her all weekend? Why run it on such a bad weather day when she's lucky enough to have the option to do it whenever and however she wants? Just can't stop with her skinny mirror selfies either, even though she knows it bothers her followers. Probably disappointed we didn't get much of a storm here at all, so she doesn't even look like miss hardcore runner.
