She's clueless, utterly clueless. I'm tired of people like her posting their hot takes. It's not a rugby match and it's not about picking a side or supporting one over the other. No innocent civilian deserves to die
No it’s not a hot take but that is not what she did. She is not neutral at all in this. She does not have a platform, she had a social media account with an average following. What she does have is a substack account for her writing, which has had nothing about this at all given it started over two weeks ago. I also disagree that anyone who thinks they have a platform should comment or have an opinion on this, as I said, if you don’t know what to say, link to UNICEF and leave it at that.I actually think it’s important for everyone, but especially those with a platform, to speak out against genocide. Surely that’s not a hot take?

She should not have posted at all. She said several times that she should not be commenting due to her visa status then goes on to give hive a comment coupled with a bias and a blanket statement on Irelands’ status on the recent attacks! The dope.but she doesn’t have to be neutral? And you don’t have to have a big following to say you think genocide is bad? I don’t really get which part is bothering you - that she didn’t post about it two weeks ago via her paid content, or that she posted about it at all? I get that if you don’t know what to say then a donation link is sufficient but if she feels like she has more to say then that’s also fine?

This is a perfect example of the tribalism that is on display on Irish twitter at the moment. If you dare to express any empathy towards the innocent Israeli citizens or speak out against the anti-semitism that's coming from many sides, then it's all "you don't care about genocide". I'll say it again, no innocent civilian deserves to die, on either side
Her green card could be affected, we all know how mental America has becomeNo it’s not a hot take but that is not what she did. She is not neutral at all in this. I know, she mentioned it during her sermon so again, she could/should have said nothing, linked to Unicef and moved on. Certainly not mentioned her guess at Irelands’ take on it!Her green card could be affected, we all know how mental America has become
. I would suggest to Rosemary and other blue ticks that they don't need to use their platform to weigh in on every topic especially ones they don't understand
I agree on this so much, I'm sick of seeing everyone who has any kind of following on insta coming on with a serious crest fallen expression trying to impart their great knowledge on the absolute tit show that is the world right now.
I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks of the situation, I can read up or watch from people who have actual grasp of the situation if I want to. Every day there is a new war or tragedy or disaster, I'm not on insta to be lectured or educated (I'd certainly choose a more reliable source) by someone who has about as much knowledge of the situation as myself.
I like Rosemary generally but I'm fed up of the lot of them giving their tuppence worth to their followers, spare us
You’re putting words in my mouth a bit there, if there’s an issue on Twitter with that then take it up with people there, I’m just saying it’s important to speak out against genocide, which is true. Having sympathy for innocent Israeli civilians and condemning an ongoing genocide of Palestinians aren’t mutually exclusive.
Bit in bold: you're living in la la land if you think the anti-semitism shown towards ordinary Israeli and Jewish people hasn't been off the charts lately
I don't think anyone needs to hear the opinions of an American housewife, with to my knowledge, no connection to Israel and Palestine.
Again, that’s not what she did. She shared no information, just her own experience in Fort Wayne of what is happening Israel and Palestine. She didn’t have to say anything at all!Maybe you’re not seeing it on your feed, but I follow multiple Palestinians, both displaced and in Gaza, and they are all asking for everyone to share what’s happening. You don’t need a degree in politics to know that what’s happening isn’t right.Excluding people from activism, digital or otherwise, because they’re “American housewives” isn’t fair or correct. Everyone has the ability to do their own research. I don’t remember anyone criticising her for sharing posts about Ukraine/Russia.
