I haven’t read the book but this is something I really enjoyed about the movie: the fact that for once there wasn’t a subplot (involving other, often, straight couples), it was all about Alex and Henry.I agree there was so much more they could've done as a series, but as a film, I liked that it stripped it all back to just keep the focus on Alex and Henry no side plots and other people really. They were so good.

We had the 1hr 58 prelude, we had the romance that was over a year or so in timeline, now time to get down to brass tax and get your bits out for the thirst.Ha that too. Although I like the sweetness and romance of the movie. So I want both

Did anyone else think maybe the king understood Henry's position more than he let on. When he turns away he gives a look that I couldn't work out whether was concern for Henry, or a sign that he maybe had had feels for a man in his time
