I really want to fast forward 10 or so years to see how she copes with Freya being a teenager with a mind of her own. I really hope she 'rebels' and is into all the things that Grabby is scared of, like fast food, alcopops, having some actual fun, staying up past 8pm.

I say rebels in quotes because those things aren't actually rebellious, they're just completely normal teenage things that Grabby never experienced herself.

They might as well have gone to the Canaries if all they wanted was the weather and beaches. Those children’s have not experienced Australia or seen anything you can’t see closer to home.

She could get proper paella there too but she probably wouldn’t, she can’t bare to part with any dinero. Not sure what she’s actually contributed toward the WA economy on this trip as they’ve mainly eaten in or shopped at global conglomerate KMart or passed her kids off at free playgrounds and playgroups. They’ve just been using free facilities then they’ll bugger off home.
 
He's got to be on some kind of register somewhere right? Because of the way they met and the fact he was in a position of power? Like there has to be no possibility of him working with children again, never helping on Freya and Raffy's school trips or at Brownies or Scouts. God forbid he meets another sexually attractive 12 year old 🤮 It's sus that he stopped his career/ interest in teaching after they met.

I think he was just helping with the trip. As he went to the same school previously. I’m not sure she’s mentioned he was ever interested in teaching. He was an accountant with the family firm until he resigned in 2015

She mentioned the teaching he did in Africa and I was going off the fact that he had returned in his 20s to 'help out' 🤢 on a school trip. He would've had to be DBS checked to help out on the school trip wouldn't he? I have no idea if there is any mechanism for authorities to be notified/ for it go on his record about what he did (sadly I'm guessing there is none) but it should have done and if jt hasn't that's a concern about people like him who are slipping through the cracks!

Oh god absolutely but the worrying thing is even with a DBS people have slipped through the net.
I was having some training recently we were told why it changed from CRB to DBS. I forget what the crime was though. But yes, sorry I completely forgot he taught abroad. Makes it all seem worse somehow!!
