My maternity pay is okay in the sense it’s better than stat but a lot of my industry have now got better - so I’m keeping an eye on if they improve it. I think I’ll go back after a year and potentially start trying then and see what happens unless another opportunity comes up with better pay - maternity.

My only concern for this is making sure I’ve got my body into a good place and have built back fitness and lost some of this covid/baby weight. I know I’ll probably have GD again so just want to make sure I’m giving my body the best chance !

This pic gives me the fear as a previously breast feeding Mum. All I needed was me 😂
We did a bottle here and there for the first few months but pre-made and like 2 bottles. I really want to do some formula but it is daunting, measuring and timing and how long it can be made up for but what temp and all that.
I can see why you’d have one rapid cool cooling down and another ready to go then one for out and about so you don’t have to pack the one off the side each timee so 3, but why 6? And are the little bottles no good now? Do you recommend a measuring pot thingy to have the formula ready in advance?

Also, ngl, I’m usualy not keen on shoes on tinies, I just live little feet in socks, but those are so frickin’ cute I think I might actually need them. My oldest had Nike in black as their first summer shoes and they melt me 🥹

Only 6 because I’m an over-prepared person 😂 so today we’re out for quite a while so I’ve bought 3, but used one just before we left so that’s in the steriliser at home and then he usually wants a bottle as soon as we get home so I’ve got another ready if we use all 3 while we’re out. It also means when I do the last feed before bed I don’t have to wash and sterilise one straight away so that it’s ready for morning. I can do 2/3 together with bottles and don’t have to worry about getting it sterilised.

The tiny bottles are no good now (don’t even know where they came from? Think they might have been part of a bottle set), they don’t fit the 5oz milk in. The medium size do but won’t fit 6oz so we’ve switched them all over now. And I always measure out the formula for the night feeds in advance because I’ve lost count of scoops, spilt scoops etc and trying to balance a crying baby and open the tin and measure it out is a nightmare so I find it easier if it’s all ready to go. It also means if Mr R is getting up to make the bottle I know it’s properly measured scoops and the right number of them because he’ll do it and then come in like “that was 3 scoops wasn’t it??” 🙄 just anything to make the nights a bit easier really. I’ve started measuring out the day formula for the same reason now 😅
 
I don’t sterilise the containers because the hot water kills anything in the powder. If I dropped it on the floor or something I would but we just clean them with hot soapy water between uses.

It wouldn’t be easier to put the powder straight in to bottles because it’s recommended to do water first otherwise you’re not getting the exact amount you need. If the powder was prepped in the bottle you’d need to measure out the water separately and it seems much less faff to just empty a container of powder in 😁
 
Nearly 3 weeks with baby N and this growth spurt is having my liiiiife. He’s only napped 3hr16mins and he’s been on the boob 2hr11mins. And last night we only got about 5 hours total. Today i managed my first nap whilst he napped. Yep it’s taken nearly 3 weeks for me to nap! Aaaaand I finally got a haakaa to catch other side let down when feeding and it’s helping loads for the OH to help with bottles! Literally lazy pumping isn’t it 😅

Oh no this sounds rough! Baby R will only nap in the day on my chest so I usually end up falling asleep too, will Baby N let you nap like that? I know it’s not the best but I figure they’re only this tiny for such a short time so it’s worth it for my own sanity 😂

I love the chest nap cuddles! He slept til 9:45 on my chest this morning after a 6am bottle, I felt like a new woman. Must have had 8 hours sleep when you take out the night feeds 😂 we went up to size 2 teat yesterday with the change of bottles and increase in milk. Also went to size 2 nappies over the weekend. All change here feel like he’ll be off to school before I know it 😭😂
 
Oh good cos I kept googling and the size 2 said 2 months + and their only a month old!! she keeps falling asleep at the bottle and getting a cob on when drinking so thought she needed to go up one! I’ll go to Boots tomorrow and get some. She’s still in size 0 nappies 😂😂
