Pregnancy Off Topic #5 “Are men ok??”

Did any of you use the frida mom recovery band after your caesarean?
No I mentioned it, or something similar to the midwife as I thought it might help protect from bumps from my oldest but they said don’t bother, it’s a gimmick, best to just leave the scar to heal, don’t ice or warm etc. If it’s really hot, it’s a sign of infection so cold packs arent it.
I was given a stretchy tube bandage thing by physio (bed side visit in recovery, I didn’t ask them to come) to help my ab separation. It provided a bit of protection. Also used the scar plaster stuff when it was closed and dry which helps itchiness.

Tbf I think a lot of the frida mom stuff is crazy overpriced where you can get similar bits, just the bits you need far cheaper.

I used the frida csection recovery belt and actually found it helpful. It wasn’t that my scar was hot at all, it just soothed it a bit in those early days where the pain is awful. Whether it’s worth the cost or not I’m not sure but I’ve kept it for next time. There are some on vinted for a much lower price if you wanted to give it a go

Now I’ve gone the other way and don’t want my baby until September with school years in mind 😭. Mr L can’t keep up.

hahaha blame the hormones! I’ve been moaning and wanting this baby to come asap, but now we are in the last week of the month. I just think the last week are rubbish dates so would rather just wait for a September baby now 😂 school dates don’t effect us in Scotland, we run from March-Feb.

I'm in Scotland too 😊 Wee Man and the Threenager are March/April babies so that's really buggered us for school. Both will start when they're 5 and the Threenager's pals will all start the year before.

I bought the baby one of those Nuby gloves that you chew on cos she’s always chewing on her hands. so i put it on her right hand …. she began chewing her left … swapped the glove to her left …. she started chewing her right …. swapped it again and she started chewing the left … If i go back to Boots and get another one she’ll probably just miraculously stop chewing on her hands 🤣

We’ve got 2 and he just stares at his hands if he has both on 😂😂 little monkeys!

Those who already have their babies, I only have a 1 tog sleeping bag cos she was born in May and it’s been relatively warm… it’s starting to get colder (I know there will probs be a point there’s a bit of a heatwave at least again) but was wondering when I should take the plunge and get a 2.5 tog!?

We’re still wearing just a sleepsuit and a 1 tog or 0.5 tog sleeping bag 🙈 although it did get a bit cooler last night so we’ll probably add a vest tonight

Last few nights she’s been in a sleepsuit, vest & 1 tog sleeping bag. the gro egg has been saying it’s 21.1 but it’s deffo colder than that cos i feel cold.

I never once put my first in a sleeping bag, vest, socks, mittens and hat at bedtime?! 😅😅

The Love2dream Swaddle that I have says it covers 18-24 degrees? That’s quite a big range isn’t it? I take it I’ll have to just dress him in more/less underneath to accommodate the actual temp
